Oh well, back to the drawing board for the dev team then eh?

The good news is that FF apparently adds a huge boost to pet speed so much that mounts would easily replace speeders if it worked while mounted. I need to test this vs a FR Jedi to see how easily the pet can keep up.
Sounds good to me, we need FF to work while mounted!!! I'd love to go wizzing around on my savage humbaba, the fun you could have!!

That's very interesting, and a little worrying. I'm worried that the non-mounted, non-fleet-footed speeds are going to be forgotten by the devs. As far as I know, they haven't acknowledged the post-CU non-mounted pet speeds as being broken. I have more evidence that implies the speeds are, in fact, broken.
While hunting, on foot, with two pets, I noted that the pets were falling behind me. I was holding a ranged weapon, so I was running at 90% of my normal running speed. So, I targeted a creature ahead of me, and directed the pets to attack it. They would usually race by me, on the way to their prey. Using this method, I was usually able to avoid waiting for the pets.
This shows that the pets can move quickly, if they want to. This is more evidence that there is something wrong with the AI that causes them to slow down.

Actually no we dont, or at least not the higer level versions. I am confident that my spat could easily keep up with a swoop with only the level 2 version of the ability and with level 3 im willing to bet it would be faster than an AV-21. Could you imagine how much this would hurt artisan sales of vehicles? The level 1 ability might be alright for mounted use as long as it dosent make mounts superior to speeders.*I really should be taking notes instead of being a troll*Message Edited by Joker9125 on 08-31-2005 08:00 AM
Ok, FF should make mounts faster upto the speed of a stand speederbike not swoop speed, seems fair to me, after all FF is suppose to make pets faster and to me this includes when mounted.

I was thinking more along the lines of the X-34. This makes mounts a viable "backup" in case your speeder gets blown and not simply a replacement for your speeder.

As most people tend to wizz around on swoops anyway, i don't feel that a mount running around at speed comparable to that of a speederbike, in this game system anyway, would be a bad thing. I think it'd be great. So how about this then:
FF1 - a noticeable, if marginal speed increase, not upto vehicle speed.
FF2 - Increases close to X34 speed,
FF3 - Goes beyong X34 speed, close to that of a Speederbike.

This appears to be more evidence that THE SADDLE is what gives mounts their speed, and nothing else. If FF does not work to increase mount speed, it means that the saddle is governing their speed regardless of any other modification.
