Thread: What is the best profession to go with Master Creature Handler?
Bounty Hunter has good attacks, defense, assault armor (helps against kinetic attacks which most creatures do), good money running bounty missions (CHs are habitually poorer than many, and it is possible to ignore the Bounty Hunter/ Jedi war
Just my current thoughts.
I have been a Master CH/Master Pistoleer/BH4040 for a long time.
I may lack healing and long range assaults, but I hold my own.
My main armor (no grinding/baby hunting armor) is enhanced-Marauder with attachments to boost my range and speed for pistol. I wear enhanced clothes with range/melee defence, taming bonus, and other goodies.
With great food, spice, and good stims, you will survive many fights. Use your Duelist Stance and things get even better, can't go wrong with +250 defence points and return fire.
Being a Master Pistoleer allows for a wide range of hand held weapons. My main Trando-pistol slice for all damage is a very nice addition when pumping out pain. Use PU's that reduce SAC cost and your action bar will last a long time for many assaults.
My temp also allows me to Dizzy, Stun, Stopping Shot, and Knockdown...my pets do all the rest.
Plus with basic Scout skills, you can harvest resources while you kill.
There is no UBER template. Your template is only as fun as you make it. Some are better then others, but none of them have the "I win button".
CH is rewarding and a challange. Alot of fun for soloing, good for PvE, and effective but tricky for PvP.
Nothing cooler then wondering the land thousnads of meters from anyone with your 3 companions and droid by your side.
The pet xp grind may suck, but being a MCH is a reward all should admire.

Best? Depends.
Bounty Hunter has good attacks, defense, assault armor (helps against kinetic attacks which most creatures do), good money running bounty missions (CHs are habitually poorer than many, and it is possible to ignore the Bounty Hunter/ Jedi war), and you need the exploration skill tree for CH anyway. Combat Medic 4000 would give a good ranged heal for your pets though by way of Bacta Spray, plus some nice states, paralyze, and poisons if you go Master. Doctor would allow you to heal up your pets during combat, but Combat Medic can heal very well and certainly has more attack options for you to assist your beasts. Wound healing isn't such a big deal anymore if you remember to clone and drop and sit in a camp for a few minutes every now and then, and feeding you pets takes care of their wounds of course. Seen lots of people with Rifleman (I had it pre-CU), but I don't think it's the "best" post-CU for a CH because you get very little melee defense and I think a CH needs some melee defense for when a taming fails (please feel free to disagree).
Just my current thoughts.
Heh - this is exactly my template - MCH, MBH, CM 4000.
I use a damage 3 / speed 1 sliced Special ops bola carbine with a few speed tapes picked up from BH marks. This, coupled with either2 level 35 gurrecks or my level 70 razor is sufficient to take out any of the NPC BH marks including the gold elite level 82s.
It can also be quite interesting in PvP - The other day at MO a TKM/doc fancied a duel and LOL'd when I pulled out my razor cat - With the abilities taught the cat was inflicting around 200 damage twice a second and, together with my carbine, made for an interesting fight - I beat the dueller twice in a row , with neither fight taking more than 5 minutes. I even stayed close to him so that I could heal my pet when required.
So, if you want the fun of CH with some power behind it, you could do a lot worse than this template
Depends on what you want to do really
(no surprise there) Im Mranger/MCH BH 0/3/0/0 which is a very fun template and perfect for my purpose as a sidekick to my MBE
,, Low defenses though, but very fun to play, and when a Ranger revamp comes perhaps some of the rangerskills will actually work
regards

What is the best profession to go with Master Creature Handler? Master Doc or what? Have a respec left for an alt and wanted to go MCH and something else.
The VERY best prof to go with MCH is a real good partner, LOL.
I am a MCH/Mdoc, and my partner is a MCH/Mpistoleer. There isn't much we can't take on together when we pull out our combined pet strength as well ![]()
Seriously, the way the game is stacked up these days, it is really hard to be a lone ranger. I would lookhard fora playing partner and respec to complement skills so that you can make a killer killing team.
if ya like melee id go
MCH
Master Swordsman
All the rest in medic
OR
Medic 0/0/3/0 and FS stuff
Or like the sig says MCH/MCarb/BH0400/Nov Medic
Not much I cant solo, and if I cant solo it I just bring out me pets - hehe ![]()
