Thread: Droid Bug with Pets

I've been doing some experimenting tonight and it appears that using a droid in conjunction with your pets causes some portion of the CH experience to be supressed. I consider this a bug and would love to have the dev's opinion on it. Either the droid supressing the CH experience is a bug or a droid NOT supressing weapons experience is a bug.

It seems like if I use both a droid and pet I only receive 1/3 of the CH xp that I do if I dont use the droid.

Did the same thing with pistols, took a critter out on my own, then took another one from the same lair out combining pistols and droid, the pistols XP was the same in both cases.

Anyone else ever notice this, is this a bug, I'm a post pub22 CH, so I dont know if that behaviour is new after 22 or something that has always been there.

Hearing from some of the vets would be appreciated.

As a DE I can tell you the code for droids and pets is completely interwoven. I would not be surprised if this is a bug that the Devs will never comment on (like droids being healed with Medic skills).

What does your droid have to say?

Jetpacks crafted = 0 | Mando crafted = 0
And darn proud of it! I'm a Droid Engineer not a Jetpack Monkey.

I do not think this is a bug at all actually. We all know that CH XPis based on the % of damage done by your pet right? Well if a Non-CH uses a pet he/she will notice that they recive an XP reduction based on how much damage the pet did. I belive droids follow the same XP restrictions as well. This is a feature that was implemted a few patches after the CU went live.

This isn't a bug.

The use of a Droid to attack a mob will reduce all XP gained. This was an intentional change that was made shortly after the CU went Live.It was put into place due to the CL that a droid can achieve, without XP or Skill point use. Before this was put into place, a new Level 1 toon could grab a combat droid and grind his way up, solo, in very short order.

Making SWG more Star Warsy. One droid at a time.

Good point, but the fact is the droid does NOT supress weapons XP; I'll do some more testing, but my testing last night shoed that the droid only ends up supressing the CH XP if this wer e done intentionally to prevent the CL1 from quick-grinding, I would think that it should be supressing weapons XP too.
