Thread: two part question

Greetings.
I have an alt MCH. Hes a wookie, and currently is enjoying his template of MCH, Marksman40 0 4, BH 0 4 0 0, Master scout,Ranger 0 0 3 0 and medic 0 2 3 0.
But this leaves me at CL66. That doesnt bother me, but I am having aproblem withbeing able to tame higher level stuff. Even level 50 - 55 critters can take 4 tries. I also have +25 taming clothes, and kwevvu crispies +10.
So first question is, does your taming chance have anything to do with your CL?
If thats the case, then I would like to go to CL 80, which means I master one elite combat profession.
So then the second question is........
Anyone out there try MCH with M.Pikes? Its not a huge damage dealing profession but stunned and intimidated foes help out my critters as well.
I am MCH and Master Pikes. So far, I am still working on learning abilities so I have not developed a permie pet yet. But from what I can judge so far, I think I will be able to create the types of pets I want.
And as for not being a damage-dealing profession, once I got my pikes from the Kashyyyk quests, I can out-damage a carbineer at times in a hunting group. I tend to suprise them when I pullo the aggro away. haha.
OK.. as for taming.. The closer the pet is to your level, the harder it will be to tame. It took me about 40 attempts to get one pet tamed on Endor a couple of weeks ago. But it was a CL67 and I wanted it.
The foods and clothes tend to help with the odds, but simply being patient and stubborn (haha) tends to help out as well.
Your Ctrl-S skills (on the left side) will tell you the max level of pet you can control. You can tame that level in the wild, but it might take a few (dozen) attempts.
Essentially, if you can activate the tame command and the process starts, you have a chance to tame it. Just stay at it.

the only advantage a combat level of 80 brings is that u dont have to use maskscent or have to care about being agroed while taming. all of the creatures u can tame (upto level 70) are grey cons for u - so they usually wont agro u. there are ocassionally some exceptions with very agressive creatures but u usually get thru without agro.
ahh.... thanks. Thats too bad, that it still seems so hard to tame critters after making it to MCH.
