3x to tame Stoneskin after three days and losing one to aggro when the 7 Marauders killed it. I am finding it harder to find some CL one pets I need skills off of than high level tames. Never had a high level go over 12x to get it and that was only once, My avg is 4 taking out the one 12. It is random, just like trying to guess a holocron unlock back in the old days lol.
Yes it is much worse - and I think I've finally found where they are going with this.
Basically fullymatured high level pets are now much, much better than they were before. All those specials stack to make a fully matured CL 70 rather "awesome" - hence the grind to get them there (it really is worse than Jedi
).
Making high level (60+) tames much more difficult is part of this - I've noticed thatsub 60tames are pretty much automatic these days. 60+ and even with all the gear it takes many, many attempts.
Oh, and if you don't feel "awesome" - CH is NOT a stand-alone profession from the balance point of view. You need CL 80 and to group with your pets to get the full benefit from them. I recently switched from MCH/MBE/Rngr (CL61) to MCH/MCM (CL80) and the difference due to just that CL change is unreal (at least it is to someone who spent the last 2 years as a crafter!). My pets can actually kill things! Grouped, they hit and do so for most of thier damage - stack the specials and they are even better. Add my own combat abilities................
CH is not a primary combat skill, it is too slow to be viable alone- but as a secondary (when used well) it really comes into it's own.
Consequently it has been made deliberately even harder to learn than Jedi(I'mprogressing toJedi faster), lest CH become FOTM again........
