Thread: Pets Losing Interest in Lairs

Some of my animals lose interest in lairs after six hits. So far, for the animals I've tested, it's been the bipedal pets that lose interest. The four-legged animals keep at it. The number of hits until the animal loses interest, six, is consistant.

Along those lines, I have noticed that sometimes my mounts will not attack lairs at all. Havent seen any patterns with it. Doesnt happen all the time, but occasionally they will just ignore it when told to attack.

Same here. For example, the crimson cat would attack the lair, but the carrion spat and cu pa would often stand back and watch, probably snickering. It didn't happen every time, and I didn't see a pattern in their behavior. A dewback would also stand and snicker, some times.

I've only extensively used my dewback to hit lairs, but he consistently stops attacking after the sixth hit. Non mount grinding for specials critters keep at it until I order them to lay off.

Ah, I should have seen that. The bipeds that stopped attacking after the sixth hit were a spat and a cu pa. Mounts.

Yes, it has to do with mounts. From testing I have found:

Mounts with ranged attacks will use it if they are within 30 meters. If they are beyond that they stare really angrily at the lair, but don't move closer. Mounts without ranged attacks have to be almost on top of it or else they growl a bit, daring the lair to move.

Whether they engage or not, they disengage after the five or six attacks as y'all have seen.

lol well put, Lantyssa- made me giggle when I pictured my pets growling at a lair, daring it to move "I DARE you to move, you pile of leaves!!"

This reminds me of a super old CH bug where mounted pets didn't like to listen to their masters. I'm assuming this has been fixed over the past year and a half, but hearing about this "new" weird mounted bug it makes me wonder if this is something similar. Strange how a saddleseems to have messedwith their AI.

Same thing here with my savage humbaba mount.

He stops attacking at either 6 or sometimes 7 hits every time. Never 5 and never 8.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

has anyone else noticed one other little thing when in fights with some critters you take no dmg after intitial hit you both can just stand there in aggro mode with nothing happening might be the same reason why pets are currently non holding lairs aggroed (oo wow suprise a new bug )

I only noticed past ew days while sampling DNA with my alt on kashyyyk the steel calw was like that alot we both would stand there in aggro mode and no dmg was recieved on my end Im afraid to bug it and have them over fix it (wow that live nuna just one hit me for 10k dmg and its lvl 1 )

I bugged this, although at the time I bugged it I thought they slipped in a 'fix' for the lair aggro. So I thought instead of telling pet to 'stay' after attack lair, I'd have to tell it to attack every 6-7 hits.

Had this exact same thing happen to me today. I'd been grinding next to a Lvl15 Bantha all day doing woderfully, one of my MCH friends logs in, I have her get me the training I need, and saddle my Bantha for me. After that he wouldn't touch a lair unless I was right on top of it.

It is most definately something to do with the saddle, (Murray) behavied perfectly up until he was saddled.
