Issue 1: Pet's appear to keep an "attack queue". If you tell them to attack one thing, then tell them to attack a second thing, once the second is dead they go back to the first. This can certainly be a pain when the first target was a lair and there are still creatures to kill. You can reset the attack queue by issuing a "follow" command, and then sending them to attack the new target. Once the new target is dead, the creature falls back into follow mode.

You might also have a pet with an AoE attack,what creature type(s) has the problem? I tamed a Giant Pharple that had Intimidate L2, and it was a pain to use against higher-CL creatures because of it's AoE. It chewed through yard trash like a lawn mower, though.

Issue 2: Basically, it's the luck of the draw. Sometimes you'll get an ability every other tame, sometimes you're stuck in a slump. And even if you do get an ability, if you're specifically looking for something, that's the one you never find. I spent almost a week wandering around Corellia trying to get Aggression, and finally gave up. It's not something I have an immediate need for (I'm TK / CH, so I generally focus my creatures on dealing damage), and I never pass up a baby for a 'drive by' tame, so I figure I'll get it eventually.

Hmm Thanks for the info. I didnt have any attackes queued up. The pet would be on a mob then suddenly question marks from all the surrounding mobs and bam 7 tusk cats (which arent social at all) on us. And dmg to the lair. I was using a boarwolf ravager with marring storm 3, and also a rhoa kwi hunter. Neither has range or an aoe that I know of, so I am really at a loss. I will try a pet i was leveling for a long time, who could always solo pull, and see if its the same. BTW i used these pets before last Saturday, and never had a problem. THis sall started for me on Saturday. I really REALLY hope I am not bugged, and that no one put in a stealth "fix".
