Thread: Couple of Questions CH Defences and a good tameable level 28 pet?

Hi,

First things first, why does CH not come with ANY defence bonuses in the tree's? I mean Combat medic gets defences so why not Creature Handler?

I look at my stats for defences and they are pitiful, even when teamed up with another master combat profession. I know our pets are there to do the work for us, but we still tend to draw most of the agro, so we could do with the extra defences....is this the way its suppose to be or did they just forget to add them in?

Secondly looking for a pet that will come in about 25 - 28 (no more) combat level to help make a nice trio (got 2 level 21's) any ideas whats a good pet out there to look out for in this CL?

Fourm search and stickies are your friends.

That was very informative thank you, geez why didnt I think of that?

Seach produces nothing on CL28 pets, thought it would be better to get the information from fellow CH's as they might just have tamed a CL28 that fits what I need. As for the CH defences, I know its an 'issue' but is anything being done about it? Stickies are just that, they tend to be dormant pieces of information that get updated when the original poster can be bothered to or has new information to update them.

Stickies are your friend until they are over used and then they just become a part of the forum that you have to troll for answers, and the search function on this board has never been the best.

With the CU alot changed with creatures and the 'Good old Sites' just havent caught up yet, like warcry etc.

I am new to the CH world but to get one answer to a question and that answer is as good as 'go find your answers yourself noob, they are there you just have to search for them' is pretty poor. I thought the BH and Jedi boards were the worst for being up themselves, I'm thinking they aint the only ones!!

I think we don't get any defenses for the same reason that CH were excluded from the CU ... we are not a combat profession.
Now why CH actually increases your CL, I have no idea, but am too afraid to ask out loud lest they take it away

For a CL 25-28 pet, www.swgcreatures.com might be your best bet. A quick search gives out these creatures:

pouncing jax, 25
bounding jax, 25
mountain squill, 25
giant peko peko, 25
giant sand beetle, 25
huurton stalker, 25
bolma, 25
quenker, 26
huurton pup, 27

We get no extra def 'cause we have too roll our pets 4+ million exp But seriously, SOE hates us thats why. I mean why make us useful? Why not make so whenwe are KD'd it says "Sorry, you are a CH, lay there an die like a good lil noob!" ... Don't be shocked if our monthly bill is increased for CH charges. Haha yet, as CH's we put up with ALL of this B.S.!

Thats a good question. Why didnt you think of that? And you welcome sometimes everyone needs to be reminded of the obvious.

This is a quote from my sticky

Which pet is best at X/X/X/X level?

The answer is almost always a BE (BioEngineered) pet. With the exception of a few rares BE pets will always have much better resists, HAM, specials, and a much lower CL than anything in the wild of comparable power. Also unlike other combat profession where the type of gun you use can make a huge difference in combat. The pet skin has little to do with how strong a BE pet can be. They can make Durni that will pwn a Rancor.

Hmm seems to answer your question pretty well.

And I told you to do the fourm search because 2 days before you posted that question we had a very long discussion about that very topic.

If the same question pops up multiple times then its moved to the stickes. Thats why we have them so its easy to find the information. If someone is to lazy to read them then thats pretty poor.

Of course, why we get an armor cert but no defenses is beyond me.

This would be fine Electro5 if it werent for the fact that when your pet attacks one of a group the rest ignore your pet and attack you instead. Even if your pet can hold its own aggro it cant mitigate what has never aggroed it, nor what it hasn't actually hit yet. Kind of need the defences then, I know from first hand...lol

I apologise joker for not being completely clear in my original post about looking for a CL28 pet. I did say 'out there' actually meaning tamable, not BE'd. I was master BE with my CH, but dropped it for a more defensive profession because my pets couldnt protect me (see first post).

So I have two TAMED 21's and looking for a TAMED 28. So I asked for a list of pets that are known to come in on this level in the wild, I just wasnt 100% clear on that.

And if your wondering why tamed and not BE'd? Well as far as I can see Tamed tend to have one more ability slot at same level, plus a level 21 Grand Wrix looks a lot better than a level 21 with a Wrix skin (the size issue does matter...lol)
