Thread: New Mounts?
While running around watching people fly by me on their bikes at Mach 8000, I have decided that I should have a faster form of transportation, specifically to get away from areas with too many players and go fishing. So, I'm looking at the mounts.
Unfortunately, I really don't like the way that anything looks. Giant lizards are all well and good to fight with, but I don't want to ride one of the things. The balding dromedaries lookdumber than what they are,and I want something thatlooks vaguely intelligent (even if it isn't). And don't get me started about the giant duck or turkey vulture.
So, I've heard the occasional noise about other critters being added to the line of mounts, and was wondering if this was going to happen? I'd give my eyeteeth for a Tybis or a Dappled Gualama to ride.
Does anyone know for sure if anything is going to happen?
What's a Muljaw? swgcreatures.com, here I come.
My apologies for neglecting the Ronto and the Bantha. Very good points, but I'm still not into them. *grin* I'm afraid I'll be the one hanging off the Ronto's reins screaming "Head down you idiot! Head down!" at it.
Essentially, I am looking for something more "horse" like. I've always admired the lines of the Gualama and especially the Tybis. It's not a hugely savage critter or anything, but it looks like it's thinking when you see it.
Guess I'm just vain. *grin*

I occasionally go bop meatlumps, ragtags, and swoopsaround Coronet, just for fun and a few credits and some loot, and use my bull ronto to help out. Recently I've been slaughtering butterflies because they're dropping primo meat (this on Ahazi) for my disease packs.
He can't go into Coronet itself through a gate. He can't figure out how to duck under the archways.
The devs once said they would add more mounts but as usual they wouldn't give any dates. They also said any new mounts would most likely be CH only.
Of course, I wouldn't count on it until you actually see it happen.
Mawgax's are mountable? Weird. Cool, but weird.
The idea of CH only mounts doesn't bother me at all for obvious reasons
. Just wondering if there will be anything more....elegant....that we could play with.
Which actually brings up another, very, very dumb question: can you not train mounts until they are adults? I grabbed one of the gonky duck things to experiment with, but it didn't give me any sort of mount training option. I take it that it won't happen until it grows up some?
Thank you!
Each mount model has a certain size requirement before you can put a saddle on it; somewhere here on the CH board there are several threads that outline precisely when each mount critter becomes trainable as a mount. For example, savage humbabas are mount trainable at CL 6; giant carrion spats are trainable right after they're tamed; lesser dewbacks aren't ready to ride until they are nearly full grown, and even then you look something like a Shiner in a parade riding them around.

Each creature has a different point where you can train it to be a mount. It's based on the creatures physical size. It has to be large enough for the saddle to fit on it. The non CH mounts can't be trained until they're almost full grown but the giant carrion spat can be trained as soon as you tame it.
Thanks guys! I'm an idiot and should have looked harder. 'Preciate it.
when do you think it will come out?
It's part of publish 7... which will be supposedly around mid month, but your guess is as good as anyone elses really.
