We know that 1 AT-ST > 3 Rancors, it was proven in Beta, and they are a considerable force to be dealt with. Now, do they have Creature Challenge Levels? From what I can tell an Imp will still be able to walk around with 2 darktroopers and 1 AT-ST, have his 2.5k HAM"House" pet safely in his datapad, and all for no skill pionts cost, yet we have to spend 63 skill points to use 1 (hopefully 2) rancors / gurrecks etc. ?

Heh, not really sure where Im going with this post, it just struck me as I was sat here and thought it was a bit...odd. I never really thought we were being over-nerfed, and didnt really mind non CH getting petsuntil I thought about that, now I am a bit peeved about the whole thing.../shrug feel free to ignore my rablings hehe

Well my biggest concern with this change to Ch's is the fact that anyone with faction pets will be stronger then us. *shrugs and waves good-bye to her master creature handler*

Yeah we can but we can't have 6 pets out so tell me what's the point in being a Creature handler when we can become a BH or TKA and have three pets and way more power?

True Razor, but by that logic whats the point of being a creature handler? Just playing devils advocate here .

Thats it exactly, I could have my 3 "Uber" pets, more "uber" in fact than the toughest creature handlers can get, keep my "house pet" (Fang - my wrix), save 63 skill points, AND be more effective in the GCW than CH were even before the nerf by going Master Pistoleer, then taking the pistol line in the BH skill tree.

I like the CH class, but lately it has been going the way of, well......pointless. I can still keep the pet I tamed myself as a companion, and still get powerful pets to solo with, and on top of that be even more powerful than I could have been before any nerfs. It just strikes me as bizarre.

The "sales" aspect is still there as well, because I can probably tame any pets people can use with only novice CH, effectively eliminating any point at all, totally and utterly making the whole profession a waste of time except novice. Faction perks are also being reduced in cost making them even easier to get. Kind of disillusioned here now lol.

CH pets no longer perma-killed, you dont have to be constantly overt being vulnerable to enemy player attack.. you dont even have to be factioned. I would think an army would have superior firepower to that of a CH no?

None of this is relelvant. Our class is now more or less pointless as I see it. Look at each thing in our class that was appealing :

1) Tough pets to solo with (although soloing is essentially pointless at master anyway unless you want 400 squillion hides) - Can get 1 AT-ST and be better at it, have to be overt true - but since having a 3 rancors made us "unstoppable" in PvP anyway, and an AT-ST is better yet, who cares?

2) Small companion type pet. Everyone gets one of these now, completely pointless reason.

3) New market with smaller pets. Pick up novice and you can probably tame anything people will be able to use - no market.

4) Mounts. See point 2.

In the end everyone can have a small pet of their own to walk around with (which is what was appealing to a LOT of people), can be more powerful in the GCW by mastering different professions then using faction pets, can have a mount anyway.....etc, etc

But again my point is you will have to be factioned, and Imperial factioned to play with that AT ST. I think you know Imperials are endangered species. So you will have to be careful of the cities you visit and where you go to hunt...

However, I believe CH is more catered tot he neutral player so they have a few benefits. CH will not fit into my template at all nor do I have any interest in it at any state. Fast cash can be had using your pet on destroy missions but I am Imperial so really shouldnt complain about people willing to be overt Imp for an AT ST!

However I had a very similar discusion so will copy & paste here, now again let me be clear I am GLAD CH pets will not be perma killed.. it gives faction pets some hope:

You will now send in your pets against the enemy without a second thought know at worse you will have to spend time nursing it back to health, when the owner of the faction pet has to leave his squad.. take himself out of the galactic war once again to go on NPC delivery/destroy missions to get the pets back. BOTH take time & effort to get but one can only use at risk. I personally lost 2 troopers, one was because I crashed out of game while attacking an NPC base thus it was my piddley trooper vs. 2 rebels and the when I bought the second he died on route to the mission to agro. I have a stormtrooper medic I bought for 2,000 faction (thanks for screwing the legit player to the group "exploit" devs) and all I do is keep him inside our private PA hall for some immersion... am I going to call him as our town is being attacked and pets all over? NOPE!

Perma loss just prevents actuaI PvP..

It is the PvP factor everyone is concerned about and as it is there is many advantages you already have such as being able to remain covert with your pet out. This is especially good when you have the one overt in your group to be attacked thus you can then defend your group. Sending in your pet with little risk.. the only way I could have my pet out is if I was overt all the time and at great risk constantly...

- Taming your dangerous pet I can understand getting killed, do not forget we die to earn our pets as well...I lost count on how many times I made corpse runs because I lost the battle at my destroy mission

- For pathing our pets will have the same issues as all do, even probots wander off

- Making money is easier now that you have a pet tha cannot die, you can do high paying destroy mission with little risk now with your pet, if we tried to use faction we again run the risk of being killed by enemy faction players AND as our trooper are not as strong constant risk of getting killed on those destroy missions and being permanently lost

- If our faction pets survived the battle we will also have to wait around for it to heal, except have to find a "safe" out of the way spot to do it... or if it died back to destroy missions we go to buy another

- We will also be stuck and die as we can't call our pets anywhere either.. probably more so as players also seek us

So you see my points, and again I am in NO WAY saying to give CH pets perma death, I actually see it as a small victory for faction pets to enjoy the same treatment

Once again faction perks should always be greater then a wild animal...

No they shouldn't, when you have to spend 63 skill points to use them, AND do repetative missions to get enough faction points to get them, then they should be better. When yours take 10 days before you can use them, and you need to spend faction points as well, then they should be better. As it stands there is no reason at all for it.

When you can have 3 of your most powerful pets out at once, and we can have......1 (as it stands), yet we are THE pet class in game? That makes no sense.

What you think they just hand out faction pets at the nearest recruitment office? I am not saying my trooper should beat your rancor. I spend tonnes & tonnes of time & effort getting those faction points so I can have personnel support and at a higher risk, as I said a neutral can be a CH with little danger when I have to be factioned & overt.

By your theory the Rebel & Imperial forces should all be discharged and replaced with all creature handlers as they are the superior warrior, not only can you control the mighty rancor you still have points to spare on offensive skills yourselves... only the foolish would use inferior forces right?

NO matter how you cut it we will be limtied to 1 pet 1 good pet. So we wont even be able to have two faction pets if we wanted. So sorry this is just wrong.
