After nine roll overs I got mine to only 9 ability slots. How many roll overs did it take to get 11 ability slots for your other pets?
Oh a further note, having wasted ability slots on my varctyl without realizing that for some strange reason rules are different for mounts than for normal pets, the lightning relfexes did nothing to the varactyl's def and aggro L3 barely works if at all on the mount too. I think the coding screws with the abilities for the mounts.

I'm thinking it was maybe 14-16 or so. It seems kind of random when you get a training slot with a role over. One time, when I was keeping track of a CL 70 Shear Mite Soldier, it took3 role overs to get the first training slot, 2 role overs to get the second, and then I got training slot for every role over after that up to 12 training slots. I have never gotten more than 12. But also, one time I noticed that I got a training slot with the first role over so ... who knows? Guess I should just check the Holocron Help. I'm sure the DEVs have updated that with a complete description of the new pet ability system ... ya' ... right ... dream on!!

When the hell am I gonna get the chance to get 1? Is a (semi)Total Experience MCH not as good as a RotW MCH?

I was teaching a level 10 Veractyl and the same thing happened...only 3 slots..not 4.I think they are like BE pets..they get less slots to fill. The Veractyl is from before the abilities were added.
I would like to know if anyone has trained a Veractyl that they got after the abilities were added..maybe they have more slots.

I got my CL 65 Varactyl up to 9 trainable abilities but no more ... I have both a CL 65 Rhoa Kwi Pack Leader and a CL 63 Archane Warrier that I got up to 11 trainable abilities. Is this "working as intended"?
Oh, I also got my CL 61 Stonskin Hanadak up to 11 also.

If they are indeed like a Bio-Engineered pet, which is likely since they are not tamed but "hatched" by the same means as BE pets, I suspect thats part of the problem. BE'd pets have 1 less slot, and pre-Publish pets also have 1 less. So there's the reason for having 2 less abilities. Newer ones might have only 1 less. Might want to as Louannarchy, I sold her my Varactyl on Sunrunner when I went CH just to get it and help someone out, and that was after the publish.
