Ummm? Did they change the mission then? When I did it I got a callable level 10 bolotaur.

The reasoning was that an MCH would have little/no use for the level 10 version so they were given a level 65 one to make it useable (and yes, you have to do a quest to get it). TE players get the barc. Varactyl for digital download, Barc for Total Experience. To let one group or the other get both rewards would be unfair to the other group. The varactyl mount was in far less demand than the barc, at least on my server they can be purchased for far less than a barc can.

And I have no problem with that, the Digital Download folks got their reward in the CL10 Varactyl. And MCH CANT do the quest for the CL65 one UNLESS they got digital download. So that give sthem two rewards? I tried to do the quest, and was restricted because of the fact that I bought the full version of the game on this instance for my MCH character. Dont you think that being MCH alone is a good enough prereq for doing a quest? Without having to have purchased a special edition of the game itself

It's because the Verractyl is Exclusive to the DD version, both the lv10 and lv65, while the BARC was exclusive for TTE.

Find someone willing to respec to Master Creature Handler and that is not willing to keep it. I used my token respec on Sunrunner to take Master Creature Handler, got the Varactyl (easy quests for the win), dropped MCH and grinded up Carbineer. The grind for regular professions is pretty easy once you get one combat mastery, so if your willing to pay a decent amount of money I'm sure you have a guildy or someone who's considering switching templates and still has the respec (heck, its worth using the respec just to get the stupid respec message to go away 
).
If your wondering, I sold the CL65 Varactyl on Sunrunner for 2 million. Started the auction at 2, expected to get a lot more, but apparently CH's don't visit the trade forums much, so the gal who bought it got a heck of a deal.

umm no you get a callable one its in deed form just like any other BE'd pet I have one on display at my zoo

But the Barc Speederis NOT exclusive to the Total Experience version, as it can be traded. But any MCH that did not get the digital version (like me ) can not get the Varactyl, even through trade (I think it cannot be traded / transfered. But what MCH would?).

Thank you Tarlon for seeing what I'm trying to say here. Someone else apparently wants a barc and wasnt happy with his varactyl it seems
Just seems kinda cheap to have someone respec to et a pet for a quest that should be open. Where is the quest that is only completeable by someone that bought TE? Thats basically what your arguement is here.
DD gets a free mode of transporation + A quest for cool pet (while useless for mose purposes, who doesnt like the varactyl afterall?).
TE Gets a barc, which after the last publish, anyone that had sone has surely seen that the Barc is useless after the first 4-5 restoration kits you drop 1 mil on to fix your speeder. (Personally, I've bought 14 VRK's so far to restore my barc. Mostly after it was shot out from a NS that was over 300m away from me )
)I don't mean to sound like the 7 year old at Christmas that is counting the number of packages he and his sister got to make sure noone else got more, but it seems kind of poor balance to me....

Exculsive in the means that it's given out on from TE. There is nothing stopping the trade of the lv65 Veractyl except since you have to be a MCH to control it they only allow a MCH to take the quest. Makes sense, but it stinks for TE people. I got the DD first and then got TE for the updated CDs since I reload a lot. Then I got another TE to start a new account so I feel the upgrade pain

I didn't know this.
I doubt any CH would trade theirs, but it leaves hope that I might be able to buy one from a retiring CH one day.
