Ok, I tamed and trained a creature with Hamstring 1 very quickly, butlater found this.

Yesterday got one with Hamstring 2 on it, but he appeared to be able to use the attack straight away. Now for the amount of damage it was doing I presume it was the level 1 attack, but I was just wondering if anybody else had tried this with other triggered attacks or for that matter innates.Might be worth tryingto see if animals with higher level abilities can use lower ones as long as you have learnt them.

Ok this worked with Knockdown 2 as well, amate was using it last night before he had learnt KD 2 he was able to use a version of the skill. More tricky to test results with the innate skills but wouldn't surprise me if they worked to.

Someone is confused here...maybe its me, but I'm pretty sure that it is you.

You don't need to learn the Ability before you can use it, if the pet has it when you tame it.

For instance, you tame a pet that has Knockdown Attack L3. It has a Commandable trigger that you can set up a command for, the moment that you tame it, and can have the pet use its Ability, the moment that it hits the datapad.

The only time that you have to learn the Ability first, is if you wish to /train the Ability to another pet.

Yeah I gathered that, but the damage and effect did not seem to be any better using a creature with a level 1 skill compared to the 2 until I had actually learnt the level 2 ability.

Hence the thought that the creature was using the lower level ability.

With the State Attacks, there may not be a difference in damage. The difference should be in the lenght of time that the state stays in effect, or the effectiveness of the state. And just for the record....

I don't think that there currently is a difference in the L1 and L3 State Attacks at this time. I'm pretty sure that they aren't 'balanced out' yet.

Hehe, that doesn't really surprise me. Fair enough then, just have to wait and double check when they have sorted out the kinks.
