I tried this command with my pet last night as I was rping and didn't want to put it in spatial but my pet didn't respond to what I was telling it to do. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

It's working for me. Although there's an old issue (which may or may not have been addressed since the last time I tried CH) where short commands (three letters or less) don't work with /tellpet. So "/tellpet attack" would work, but "/tellpet a" might not.

maybe that's my problem, most of my commands are one letter

I've occasionally had this happen to me, recently. All of my commands are more than three characters. In my case, storing and recalling made the problem go away. However, I'm still having problems with commanding the animals by name.

I use /tellpet exclusively, and have commands of various length, at least 3 long ( cpp and gpp are the shortest ). No problems here.

tellpet works perfectly for me and has since they introduced it.. since I ALWAYS use tellpet to keep the junk out of spacial I have all my pet commands set to 3 or more characters.

I use tellpet all the time as well. When I want to RP I have some marcos that issue a tellpet followed by some spoken dialog and emotes. I usualy keep a quiet version and a RP version tied to my number pad for quick use. Also great when you need to spam folow or the like. Much better than typing. I just type the rarely used ones, like transfer, or befriend. The ones in the middle I put up in the action bar.
Its known that tellpet dosn't work well with one letter commands, although I have no idea why, probably just a bug in the text parcer.

I also use /tellpet but my shortest command is gr for group and I never have a problem with it.
