This may have already been mentioned but the best way to farm CH xp I found with a ranged weapon (good to have Marksman Prof [Nov Carb here]) is to have a pet tankthe gank and when u see the neme's HAM sink, proceed to whack the offender. This way, you get all the CH xp quickly and not at the expense of your pet's HAM.
This works especially well against lvl yellow or red jokers with a low level pet that would otherwise suffer to much HAM loss it makes farming tougher.The pet simply initiates attack and once the enemy HAM drops you commence firing with best specials -- never mind your own HAM loss and burst run if the situation get hot. The pet might get gimped but you can always use Vitality Pack and store/call when u are in a safe place.
Try to punk all the spawns and try not to use your weakest animal. Save that one for the yard rubbish.

And If your a true animal lover like myself you won't run at the exspence of your pets life because all true CH'ers know you cant store a pet during combat..... I went from master pistoleer to master marksman to see what ranged weapon I like, but you know what? in the end i went wit hunarmed combat so I could fight with my pets laying my hands upon my enemies just as my pet does.
Sure if you want to grind exp then hiding behind a ranged weapon is fine or4 you could just go out and train every baby you find.
