Hi,

I'm new to the forums. I have been grinding Commando and I a currently at 1/0/2/0, basically becoming a grenadeer. But, I've decided to change gears and become a might creature handler, however the pickets I am hunting only give 300 chxp per kill. I have a nice variety of pets. I am a 2/3/1/3Creature Handler. Iam level 32 for pets. I have 2 greater sludge panthers, 2 pickets, graul mauler (cant use yet), giant veemok, numerous other BE pets. I wanted to know where or what I should hunt to level up ch quickly. People have told me to go to the tusken and hunt them, however I would rather hear from the experts. Any and all help would be much appreciated. Please be very specific, thanks!

From the board : dathomir in a rancor hunting group.

I can't say more, I trained CH before the patch.

Rancor hunting certainly is a great way to get xp fast, though hunting any high level creature will get you good xp. Remember, thegreater the difference in level between your pet and the creature it's attacking, the higher the xp.

I went to Dantooine to get xp, though, because I could always find hunting groups to join up with. On Dathomir I found myself going it alone far more than I liked, and while I could solo rancors it was only with great difficulty - maybe not aproblem you would have being a commando. However, I would end up using a lot of stims to keep my pets in fighting condition. This was pre-nerf, but even post-nerf rancors are tough on your pets. The obvious advantage of being in a group is that your pet isn't the only one attacking and therefore isn't the only one taking damage.

True, on a creature per creature basis, I could get more xp from soloing a rancor than I could fromgroup missions, because my pet was the only one doing damage to the rancor. On the other hand, I was able to do more missions without exhausting my pets (or petstim supply) and thus do damage to a greater number of creatures and in the long run get more xp. Not to mention make more money. (And if you harvest resources then you can also get a greater variety of resources).

If doing group missions doesn't appeal to you and you just want to kill high level creatures, then Endor is agreat planet to visit. It probably has the highest level creatues of any of the planets and, assuming you survive you'll certainly get a lot of xp. Good luck and good hunting

If you have money to burn buy creatures from the Bazar and TTR (Tame Train Release)

My last 4 levels went by in about 4 days.

The best way is to go on "Enraged Rancor Missions" only on Dath. Go in a group. You will get 1100-1300CH XP per Kill. Every lair you get to kill 6-8 Rancors and everyone takes 2 missions so it adds up in a hurry. If you are low level CH use a bagaerest because they have a ranged attack so can stay away from Rancor blows. Or wait until Rancor is engaged with other high level creatures and almost dead then send in you r creature so he takes no damage.

I have managed to AFk grindapprox. 100K XP in a twelve hour period while sleeping or at work.

Here is what I did. Buy a BE pet lvl 20-30, Cat variation (fast), they give you more XP than wild pets. Find a newb spot...won't tell you mine, cause I still have a couple more days of grinding. When you go to sleep at night put a macro together and let her rip in a high frequencyspawn area.

If your BE pet is lvl 33, it will start at lvl 3 with approx 1000 ham. I am hunting newb creatures anb I'm getting 80-120XP per kill, exept I kill them in 5-10seconds, and it's ver safe. If I do it manually I can grind just over 300XP per minute. If I macro it I can grind 200XP per minute. Keep in mind you need a good spawn.

Change field of view to max, scroll all the way out, look down at about 45 to 60% angle to limit your range of view in distance to 60m. Start spinning (ctrl-shift-s). Place macro in toolbar, run your macro (Macro example bellow).

This is an example, not exact syntax.

target, pause 1, target, pause 1, target (I do it 3 times because you are spinning if all the targets are behind you, you won't target and you wasted a cycle).

/tellpet attack, pause 10, /attack (I attack), /tellpet follow, pause 10

/ui action toolbarSlot11 ( to rerun macro)

if you shorten your pauses you may ended up agroing more than one creature at a time...your pet incaps, and you may too. then you lose 4 hours of AFK macroing time. With a long pause you make sure the creature is dead before you move on to the next. With a baby BE pet lvl 3 or 4 you should be able tocover atleast 4 hours before he gets incapped. As the pet gets to lvl 6 or 8 that time increases. This will only work until your pet is approx lvl 18-20. If he gest that high and it's still working don't store him, cause it won't work anymore, just keep going.

Good luck.

Enraged rancor exp is nice...but BIG holes between those 1000 exp dings.

I dont know how it is now... but in the old days by FAR the fastest (and most painful) way to get CH exp was to get a baby wrix, gsp, etc (by baby I mean no more than 2 days old) and run around Naboo or a Tat city and just kill all the crap mobs. 100 per kill in the old days and you could kill a billion of them fairly quickly.

It may have been nerfed since then... I will NEVER give up CH and go back to find out.

I recently did a couple of the starter boxes that way. You can get 12-15k xp an hour doing that... have pet attack then one shot the mob. Near moena there are "killing fields" ripe for this type of activity.

Sharnaff's on Corellia are good hunting. Safer hunting grounds and decent mission payouts also (12-13k). Just remember to take out the bulls first, as they are the only ones that are social.
