Hey guys I'm two boxes away from master and im just wondering once I hit CH lvl 70 whats the best pets to go after? Not the rarest, but the toughest ones you can capture from the wild.

oh, I've got some bad news for you.

There are no level 70 pets.

In fact, the best pet is a level 60"bark mite burrower queen" but it doesn't spawn babies anymore.

If your looking for a decent level 70 pet, be prepared to be disappointed.

If you are still prepared to look for it, the highest level tameable pet I've heard of is a bull rancor (65). Even if thats not right, anything that high of a level is going to be aggressive, which means you are going to need +taming clothing.

Of course, BE's can make a better pet than anything in the wild at half the creature level. The only things you'll be missing is certain specials, but that can be overcome.

Also, you can generally find 2 level 30-35 pets that will be better than 1 level 70 pet. I dont have any pets above level 50 though, so take that for what its worth.

I think that the "toughest" tamable pet is:

a Merek Delirious Avenger (level 40) Light Armor, 10.7k HAM, 45% kinetic resists...

(but I'm not absolutely sure, because I use mostly prenerf pets.)

can anyone else verify that this pet is still tamable?

can anyone else verify if there is another tamable pet with higher resists?

It is tamable, tamed 1 when i was 3313 at second attempt.

nice pet indeed, the only pb is when it shoot at mob when your "low level 29 pet" is tanking

The Delerious Merek avenger has not spawned any babies that I have seen lately but I would take a Toxic Merek Battlelord over the avenger and they are still spawning. Of course if you are looking for a good spider and are patient the arachne webmaster is a nice pet and I have tamed two of those. Be very careful the adults are a touch aggressive.

Bull Rancor Babies are a myth, end of story. Hunted two weeks for them and hit many lairs, not one. So they are "rare" = extinct. Besides a BE can make one that is just as good and you don't risk the disease, which is nerfed once the baby is tamed. Same with mantigrue screechers a nerfed pet once tamed.

Good pet I have found is a Gaping Spider Hunter, level 44 which i use in combo with a GSP.

Otherwise I basically use my 3 BE Razor cats level 64 with light armor 12k HAM, blinding strike and disease, good resists, made by Tamji on Kauri server. To date they have been instrumental in me taking out Kimogilias (not a problem) Krayts (a problem unless I have a BH with me or MTKA), NPC's run from them, and are fairly decent in PVP. There are a few tricks to surviving PVP as a MCH but if you stick with it long enough you will figure them out.

Otherwise folks I haven't seen anything out there I want to tame so ............ on to my next BE pet.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

well, I define "toughness" or "tanking" as kinetic resists alone.

The TMB has some really sweet resists across the board, but only 40% kinetic compared to the DMA with 45% kinetic and poorer resists on all others.

and quite frankly, for tanking purposes, I'd want a pet with lower damage (again the DMA)

so if you're done grinding weapon xp, and you want to PvP a lot, then the TMB is better than the DMA.

but if you want a "tank" that will let you do most of the damage, then the DMA has a little edge on kinetic resists.

My point is I need a pet to keep the MOB of me long enough for me to get damage on them, for that there is nothing much better than my BE cats. But for a tamable I like my gaping spider hunter and arachne webmaster, I guess it all depends on what we prefer. I match my TMB with my GSP and they do a fine job of tanking most MOB's.

Still tameable, not rare at all.

They only have 45% kin and are cl 40. Not that tough.

funny that you should say that...

do you realize that no other tamable pet has 45% kinetic resists?

(unless you are counting on extinct rares like the frenzied graul)

Do you know of any currently tamable pets with higher than 45% kinetic resists? I don't.

Just get a BE'd pet - they are the best pets anyway.

First off, I have no BE pets. Nothing against them, just enjoy the challenge of taming and using what I catch. Before last big patch, I used 3 GSPs, because I enjoy the cats. They were awesome. Now, I have been using my old faithful lvl 50 gurreck and my dewback (lvl 19) I dont Pvp, usually run missions or just wander around and this combo seems to work pretty well. I am a master pistoleer also, so I send in gurreck, then dewie, and blast away. Works pretty well as this is a total cl lvl of 69. Gurreck draws the aggro it seems, but dewie gets a few licks in. All helps.
