I am MCH/MBE also.

I think the first issue is to wait for the next publish, this contains the fabled combat balance, which is going to change how combat in the game works (weapon certs, specials, HAM cost changes etc.). You can make a concrete decision then as to which combat tree best supplements your pets.

The way I look at it, your pets are you main defense, they dont have high damage output, so its best to concentrate your few remaining points into offensive capability. If you forget about the weapon support branch in Marksman, it means you can go 4000 or 3100 in the combat skill (pistoleer, carbs, rifleman or even TKA if you go the brawler route)of your choice.

Pets are high defence/low offence in combat. Players (i.e. you!) are high offence/low defence.

It depends a lot on what you are after doing as an MCH/MBE.

If your main thing is hunting then get a weaponskill - common choice is pistol since it hits the health bar same as your pets.

My main focus is BE (MBE, MCH, master scout, 0/03/0ranger, no weaponskills) - without weapons my pets can still take down the mobs, but it takes a long, long time - you needweapons of some sortto avoid dying of boredom.(On the upside, getting DNA and tracking critters down is a snap for me!)

Your pets can take an immense amount of punishment ATM - even when I used to have pistol I commonly used to stand about 80m off from the mobs and send the pet(s) in, moving to 40m or so to deliver the coup d'grace.

Let your pets do the tanking whatever route you go and you shouldn't go wrong .

WIth that template you aren't going to have much offensive with just a marksman level weapons skill. You will kill slowly. You will spend alot of time healing your pets (and buying pet stims) and you need to be very careful about a creature breaking agro from your pet. You will want to make most of your money from your BE selling pets because you will take a long time on the higher paying missions.

With my pistol 2,2,2,2 I am able to do ok on my own by having many sets of pets I can use for one evening and not worry about healing them. Otherwise, when I only had a few pets and had lower pistol skills, the slow kill and the slow heal was not very exciting.

I am planning on mastering both Creature handler and Bio-engineer, and I was wondering what might be the best offense I can get personnally with the remaining points. I.E Where might the best place to put them for my own defense/offense when things go bad? Preferablly in a ranged attack.

Another question, without the pets how well would said offense/defense work in a PVE enviroment?

How should the remaining points be distributed?

Any answers would be great.
