You would show up at a advanced planet, and people would see you are a CH and would be lined up to have you in a group, to have your pets tank for the group. Or before player cities you could actually walk across dant and see wild spawns.

Yes I remember those days. Before vehicles, before pets and I understand why we need them on the lower planets But I believe that on advanced planets, if they allowed only pet mounts, it would be better.

I also think that planets like Talus, Corellia, Yavin, should be the only planets that allow player cities, and that on planets such as Lok, Tatooine there should only be one small house allowed per person or only so many per square meter. The entrance to the Krayt Graveyard has been totally compromised by all the buildings.

I remember running from killer paralopes on Talus, flewts on Naboo, gnorts on tatooine. But now people fly past them on their speeder bikes and never think twice about it. I remember running out to our guild hall 1500 meters out of Dearic and being almost petrified most of the way. Now it's hop a shuttle and I am in my guild/player city. Some things i miss.

I remember we didn't know about medic buffs, music buffs, advanced armor etc. and now every newb won't leave town without being buffed, armored etc. No wonder it has got boring for people they have never experienced the thrill of taking on something that will and can kill you. That's why I hunt Krayt dragons, you know without a shadow of a doubt this thing can kill me. One swipe and I am dead. I do Krayts unbuffed with no pets. I like doing it with a friend or two at the most or by myself. It's the thrill of looking death in the eye and spitting in that eye

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

I do remember, and I think the game is much better now that players can tank just as well ifnot better than pets. I was not a fan of Pet Wars.

That takes most of the use out of the CH profession, save as a slightly useful and SP sucking novelty.

That is your opinion. I still have a lot of fun hunting with my Rancor. Sure, I cannot solo huge mobs with a couple low level Grauls, but I can solo Rancor nests with my own Rancor. I think that is good enough. If you like pets, you probably will still like CH. If you are looking for the most powerful combat classes, maybe try a Melee or Ranged combat elite profession and a good set of armor. Again... better for the game. No more hundreds of l33t d00ds with thier two grauls mopping up everything in site.

Now we have hundreds of l33t d00ds mopping up everything in site in their composite armor with a KD/Dizzy combo.

Thank goodness they don't have any of those creature pets out, though!

and that is YOUR opinion.

thank the sweet merciful lord that it's now hundreds of l33t d00ds mopping up everything in sight with a set of vibroknucklers surgically attached to their fists.

or with one of those new geonosian rifles that have the capacity to rival prenerf t21s in damage.

or with one of the new stun guns that completely steamroll the majority of animals in the game that just happen to all be vulnerable to stun.

or one of those 300 base acklay bone gaderffi batons or 200 base stun bats that allow defense stacking fencers to mop up anything in sight(granted they're being nerfed but the point still stands).

addition: and no, i don't needchs going back to the way they were, but that everything else in the game can do more than a ch can(in some cases even novice marksmen) is absurd to the point of completely negating your argument.

In my case, as a long time MCH, there's no point to being a CH anymore. Sure, I can solo a lot of things with my pet(s), but I'm a shadow of my former self. And what's the real use of taking on rancor lairs anyway? To get a bull rancor? Been there, done that. To harvest resources? Tedium. When you get to the point I have, when it no longer matters and it's no longer fun anymore, you just have to give it up. I told myself at one time I'd never drop MCH, because it's the best profession there is in the game. I was right back then, but it's turned into a pile of bantha pudu and the devs want to keep shoveling this steaming pile down our throats. I'm not going to be the heel anymore. I'm sick and tired. You will be too, eventually. No amount of new content (throwing us the occasional bone) can make up for months of a profession that was forced to die while we screamed in agony. The pain is gone and it's dead now. End of story.

I agree. I am an oldtime MCH. There were two reasons people became CH's way back. First was because it was fun and worked more or less. Second was to be "Uber." It got us a bad rep as Uber in the beginning and we never shook it. The L337 dudes left MCH long ago for what ever The Flavor of the Month was with SOE at the time. That left the people that thought it was fun but because of the reputation we got initially, we are nerfed with every patch/release/hotfix. I mean that litterally, EVERY one has hurt CH's some how. Now we are reduced to grinding Destroy mission and that is not fun. I can do that with my MPistoleer side of my build and armor alot faster and easier by leaving the pets in the datapad.

I was one of the first MCH's on ahazi, hunting on Lok harvesting like crazy to get CH. I used to have my 3 medium armor webmasters, out, at the same time! That was back during the rancor craze of 03. I knew better, and everyone came around.

I remember seeling webmasters and people would be like" but it isn't as big as a rancor, i'll give you 20k instead"

hah

I remember when a rancor was half as scary as a vibroknuckler...
