Thread: Thinking of MCH, DO NOT!

You have some really good points there. It really makes me sad how they nerfed the profession so

much. At one time we was the most powerful profession in the game. Everyone wanted a CH in their

group.

I barely made MCH againabout a week ago. I made a promise to myself that I would get MCH back

after the hologimp grind.

I got to finally pull out my King and Queen Merek Harvesters that I had stored in my datapad and

some of my other High lvl rares.

I think you just have to tell yourself that CH was really never meant to be for PVP. CH is a support

class. It all depends what you do with it. You can still find some really good pets that can apply bleeds,

dizzy, poisons, disease that can help you out and tank for you.CH is not dead.

Forgot to mention that the chicks still dig the CH's to!

IMO, it's all a matter of perspective. I read a lot of posts like your saying we are dead when what you are really doing is comparing us to what we used to be and judging the changes as bad. If you look at us objectively right now, no we are not the best PvE or PvP but that doesn't mean we are worthless.

This class is still very fun to play and there is money to be made when you reach master. Grouping with your pets will allow you to pull high level missions on adventure planets for more money.

I hear so many CH that's can't see the gray. It's either black or white. We are either awesome or we sux. IMO the reality is somewhere in between. I'm glad I haven't lost my MCH skills. I don't plan on dropping them for a long, long time either. But that's just me....perhaps when droids are patched I'll reconsider but I doubt it.

So what? I don't PvP and I like being an MCH.

Besides PvP is a joke in this game. Isn't CM the PvP FOTM? or is it Master Rifleman/CM? I forget, things change so fast around here I don't know what is the IN profession anymore.

Yeah, I have to agree with maddog, an MCH can't cry much louder than anybody else about PvP ... yes we're mostly useless there, but then the whole system is so thoroughly broken that it's not a profession issue, it's a design issue for the entire game.

As a Master CH/Pistoleer, I'm thoroughly familiar with the truth that MCH is broken, but by no means alone ... the plea from CH's should not be "fix us", it should be "pay more attention to quality" ... in EVERY aspect of the game.

Quality matters ... it really, really does. Shiny new things like vehicle color customization are NOT going to make your customers forget that so many basic, fundamental systems in the game DON'T WORK.

If you don't think quality matters, I'm afraid time will show you that it does ... because the first MMORPG that comes along with a substantially higher level of quality control (and better management) than SWG is going to suck this game dry of customers in a flash. I wish it weren't so. This game's potential is enormous ... but there is so little sign of improved management realizing the tiniest part of that potential, that I fear the crash will be louder than a wounded Deathstar landing on your planet .....

MCH is a great profession, especially if u solo alot.

Between my pets and flamer, haven't had too many problems, even in my limited pvp

Have done very well at the Geo Lab

I must say that as a Master CH/RM I too can solo (unbuffed) pretty much anything in the game too (exclude the few odd ones here). I don't PVP (as most ppl in the game) so I couldn't care less about that. Butat the end of the day I love being a CH (and RM) because:

1)Nothing beats the feeling of taking off on your own into the wilderness and go looking for some odd creature that you are missing in your datapad, sittingby a campfire with your trusted pet far far away from everybody and everything in the game, just being on your own.

2) The feeling when you find that rare baby and your planon what action to take, the beating of the heart when you doublecheck your shortcuts (so you don't hit Strafe2 instead of Tame like last time...), thetrembling og the fingers resting lightly onBurst Run if the bugger aggros, the joy when the green text finally appears and you quickly pull back with yourlittle prescious price following you.

3) Thefun when youbring new playerswith you and see their awewhen you solo 5-6 Pikets (or 3-4 Rancors) and take them out simultanisously by letting your pet tank and then use Strafe2.

4) I like always having company with me - you're NEVER alone (although your companion is computer controlled (c: )

5) I like being different than anyone else - that I didn't just chose the prof of the month (and that comes from a RM (c: ). Diversity is great. How fun is a game with 30 odd profs when we all just plays 2-3 of them. For a long time I didn't put up a title under my name, put now I always wear my CH title - it's a statement that I'm different and don't justjump on the fastest train(or stupid (c: )

Maybe we are not the uber prof anylonger - but I don't mind that. I can still put a dent in anything I wish (although I realize that it's not the creature but my rifle that is doing the damage, but the creature still gives me the time I need to do the job).

If you want uber, micro manage stats, and just can't accept that another person just could happen to outclass you in a few (or many ares) look elsewhere - this is not for you. But beware the nerf bat is just around the corner waiting to hit at no warning, so no prof is safe (c:

Here's a summary of anyone who has been MCH, do not do it. Yes it is fun leveling and being able to control stronger pets while trying to master CH. That's the only thing good about it. Once your MCH your worthless, your pets arent good for tanks, you do not stand a chance against anyone in pvp, and since the wonderful devs nerfed non-ch pets to only being lvl 10, no one wants those so you cant make money, and lastly there is no pet in the wild that even remotely comes close to what a Bio-Engineer can make , so theres no fun in even looking for rare pets.

Your pets arent good as tanks because once your have multiple professions you get good defenses and can afford uber armor to the point that your 5 times better a tank with 90% resistence to kinetic and your buffed, which means your pet worthless as a tank. This is part of why MCH is worthless in pvp. FIrst one thing any TKA will take out your lvl 70 pet in 5 seconds. For another most pvp dont even bother kfighting your pets, they just run over to and kill you then your pets stop attacking. Since you used alot of skill points getting MCH you dont have any defenses, so you die a swift death.

Thus, once your MCH you are very bored and really serve no purpose.

you make some very valid points

yes we are now second rate tanks, i have some awesome pve pets that just cannot compare to my tkm alt, no chance, no way, no how, never! (just so you know2 lvl35 anglerarmor 60% kin 10k ham each and 2 frenzied grauls)

its really a shame now that a once proud and even powerful class has been turned into something truly second rate...

wanna solo? try tkm/master doc, now that is a truly self sufficient combo....

we will never be as good as we once were, but always remember, the nerf bat will come full circle and we will once again be worth the skillpoints it costs......

I used to love being a master CH, but then I switched to TK after the last big nerf. I still have my Master CH, but I think I will throw it away for the holo grind. I thought CH was the best profession way back in the early days, but the devs killed all hope for it.
