Thread: I originally said the Creature patch a while back was not a nerf but would help...I was wrong

Until this profession requires less skill points, or until it gets to be a profession that you can truly call elite, I won't be back. If anything I would push for less skill points required for this support profession. If you say to me that it isn't a support profession you are in denial. Yeah you can kill stuff because you have a pet out and you are master Rifle, but let my tell you that you could do it without the pet you would just take a little more damge. They are a support role.Cya guys, it has been fun.
What's funny is I was on a similar path.
The only difference was that I ended up dropping pistoleer (was master for 4 months) and thought I could try something different. Well, dropped pistoleer, worked up on TKA and still master CH.
I started to learn the ins and out of being a TKA, and to the point where I didn't bother pulling out my pets... so I thought well, this is a waste of skill points, and I have nothing much else to do. Grabbed a holo, said master squad leader... cool, can drop CH since I really have no use for it. So now I'm grinding while still keeping Master TKA. The only way I'll be able to drop it is if I end up having to grind being a BH. But that won't happen for a while.
CH right now even though nice in PvE (not great, I've seen my pet drop in about 1 min fighting a krayt with even 60 kinetic resist and light armor) and good for soloing, only thing they're good for now is a support profession to grind on other combat professions, and getting better missions solo wise when you group with them...
I really wish they would drop this to a support skill that did not require as many skill points. Currently that is the only way I see to put a band-aid on this profession. Other than that it needs a serious revamp. Hopefully my pets in my datapad will once again be used, but who knows.
Recently (when my holocron told me to master Armorsmith) I gave up on the wild notion of being a FSCS and just chose several peofessions I like.
I was first and foremost a Creature handler, yes from day one, yes I've seen every change the CH has gone through, No I'm not giving it up.
looking for a backup skill i went through marksman, pistoleer, scout , medic. and tried ranger, Bio engineer, squad leader, doctor, combat medic.
I finaly decided to try TK and love it. it took me two months to master the skill and I don't plan on giving it up anytime soon.
So... It seems I have chosen the two most complained about professions in the game, yet I love them both.

Hehehe. Something similar happend to me.
I had a fully build MCH/Riflemen. I didn't want to unlearn ANYTHING, so to holo grind i started a new toon.
Being the CH lover thatI am, i start learning it again, as a base to work from while i Holo Grind. (@ the time ch's were still numerous, and CH still had some bite. I figured it'd help me get APPXP and help me take Holo droping enimes...)
Anyway, about half way throught the readjustment happend....
At the time I was working up pistols... but grew board with the similer combat style to Rifle, so i switched to TKM... and HOLY CRAP... as you say... "I can KILLSTUFF."
Once i got to the point that i was tanking for my Graul... it was over for me... I masterd CH only to be sure I'd not have to do it as a holo profression and droped it... First Holo Said Fencer... and the godly TKM/Fencing Fishman was born... and rancors have lived in fear eversince.. LOL.
I still have my first MCH/Riflemen... he's a hobby toon i use to collect rare pets... when i'm board accually KILLING STUFF. lol
KingSnake. (don't take this as i'm proud of my TKM... take this as, I'm discusted with my CH...
