Im a new Creature Handler, just learning theropes. I've been collecting creatures i want to turn into mounts when they are full size. I was told one day in passing another CH that when you train a mount the creature level drops to 10. Is this true? Once a mount, i cant use 'em for attacking anymore? Thanks for your replies.

The only mount that drops to a lower cl level is the giant carrion spat, It has to do with the graphics of the saddle being overlaid onto the mount.
The solution was to give the option of allowing this pet to be stunted at a mountable level or allowed to grow beyond this as an ordinary pet.
You will get the option for this when you try and cal it after it achieves a growth that can be saddled.
Again only the giant carrion spat follows these guidelines.

Usually somewhere from 3/4 to full growth you will get the option on the radial menu to Train As Mount. With BE pets it's hard to say when that will be, but most pets take up to 3/4 to full growth before they can be mounted. The exception is the carrion spat which can be mounted almost immediately because of its size.

I think that may only apply to CL10 mounts. I've got a dewback max CL22 that I mounted at CL8...

What I heard is that they need to have a minimun of CL 7 to be mount trained, no matter what there max CL is.

Size not lvl determines when pets are mountable, when they can graphically hold the saddle then they are allowed. This was how the devs established the system when it first went live, The bigger the mount the earlier you can saddle it is a common rule of thumb.

I don't know what boxes you have in CH, you mentioned you were new, but you can't train mount until you have at least 0004. You may have known that already though.
