Thread: CH forum stickies needed
- Taming pets - How to tame pets from various types of spawns (static, non-aggressive, aggressive). How to tap lairs. Strategies for taming high level creatures, etc.
- Training pets - When a pet is mountable, how to speed up pet training using macros for your commands on the toolbar, suggestions for commands, etc.
- CL guide - How totell whatlevel of pet you can use, what level you can tame, how many stored pets, etc.(My Skill Mods).
- CH combat strategies - grouping, using your pets, etc.
- CH pet combo's and pet recommendations.
- Creaturelocations - waypoints for commonly discussed creatures.
- What's broken? - A sticky listing all currently known bugs.
I'll let others add more, but it seems the majority of the questions popping up on our forum are repeat answers that could've been in a sticky. If we have these stickies we can simply refer the poster to the sticky for the info instead of repeating ourselves a million times.
(edit:addendum)
I would be willing to write some of these guides and seek everyones' input to make sure the guides are complete.

Interesting indeed
As I recall you have been quite vocal on how you feel submitting bug reports on Th or Tiggs threads is going over the correspondents head.
That it is the coorespondents job to do such things, and you pretty much cannot be bothered.
But now you want to offer help in making stickies to help all these people who come to the forums asking questions. It is very interesting that you want to help. Or is it the fact that threads youenjoy are being buried.
I have been a lurker for a long time, Yes I am also a hypocrate. I admit this openly and honestly.
I find it interesting that the post's that are from people experiencing bugs and game flaws are avoided by you. I also note you post often in threads that have relatively simple answers or are promoting a very casual and fun atmosphere here.
Why you avoid threads that you may have to admit design flaw's and bugs is easy to see after the last two weeks worth of debates.
To quote your own wordson a different subject and relating it to this one.
It is the correspondents job to organise stickies, It is also his job to determine who's thoughtful and helpful guides or tips are worthy of a sticky.
Just remember, you can't force people to read the stickies, so there's always going to be those kinds of newbie posts.

Thanks for the positive replies. Here's what I will do. I'll make some threads and if people want to add to them then they will do so. It will be up to Ko-a whether he wants to make them sticky or not. I just think it would save a lot of time if common questions can be referred to a central location. I will probably post links on my sig to those stickies so I will only have to point the people in that direction. The idea is to help people get quick answers. And it will be a group effort since I will be taking input from you all. The idea is even if they don't read the sticky titles first and they post we can refer them to the stickies for all of their answers.
And just to reiterate to all...If you remember right, I said it was the correspondent's job to get bug lists and CH concerns to the devs and that feedback about the CU and CH's plight should be posted in those stickies to better keep clutter out of the forum. I also mentioned about being positive and helping CH's that need it. What better way thanvia threads that have answers to common questions? Naturally, I won't post in the negative threads unless I have somethingconstructive to say. As for my simple answers, I haven't had any complaints yet. I don't claim to know all there is about CH, but I do what I can to help people. Trolling doesn't help the CH community.
Yep the links are fine from what i see, folks even ask the same questions that are half way down the first page. If they are not going to read the first page they won't read the stickies lol.
Yes, I've read it in its entirety. My idea is to separate subjects into quick references for those that need help in a particular subject, rather than reading a FAQ which may have information not pertaining to their question. i.e. Save them wading through the FAQ for an answer. Also, some of the answers are vague and don't go into methods or advice for CH's. There needs to be an update. Taming is different now post-CU, and issues associated with the way pets spawn now need to be noted.
If people don't want this and feel Vertexon's FAQ does the job please speak up. If so I'll give up the idea. I am in no way trying to step on toes here (Vertexon). I just feel it would be easier if people could get quick and concise answers without having to wade through a lengthy FAQ. Also, Vertexon doesn't seem to be around anymore to update the information as per the CU. I feel there are points that could be made about post-CU differences among other things.
Here's my idea... create a quick reference thread for each subject (Taming, Training, etc.) with pertinent info, then expand on it underneath the quick reference with detailed info provided by multiple sources, if the reader wishes to delve. CH's could contribute strategies that have worked for them and tips for getting the most out of each aspect of CH.
I'll await feedback from the community before starting the project. If someone else wants to do it that's fine too. It was just an idea. This isn't a glory-seeking project, it's to help people.

Just my .02$
I'd say if you feel like you can write a good CH guide or FAQ list, go for it. SendKo-a PM when it's ready. Vert's info is a good model, with indexes at the top of each document. Personally, I think that's the way to go, rather than a list of hyperlinks for each question.
One of the many useful features of swgcreatures.com is a player-updatable database that allows us to generate a waypoint map for recent sightings of specific creatures. And the player discussions associated with each creature are often gold mines of additional insights.
I agree--swgcreatures.com is a wonderful resource. The only bad thing is that a lot of it is outdated info. Comments from a year ago that don'tapply anymore. But yes, the waypoints are great. I use the site all the time.
