I dont know if this has been in te forums before, but here is what i noticed.

Today i dicided to go to Dantooine to see if i could fine a nice baby to tame. After driving around for i few min i saw a cl10 Lesser Plains Bol lair with some cl10 lesser bols. There where no babies and i thought i will kill some to see if a baby spawns for a friend of mine as a non CH pet.

When i shot one (i am master BH/CH) it actualy put up a fight! It took almost no damage and bit about 10%-12% off my health. I was thinking ok, bad luck, Wrong weapon....Lets try that again.

So i took a nice range and attacked another... Exactly the same thing happend, the lesser bol actualy fights back. I tried my LLC, Scatter and 2 different carbines on it and all weapons didnt do any real damage. Same thing again with the 3th. So i tamed one for later testing. (it has about 1700 healt and i think it was 60-250 damage (not sure))

I was thinking.. am i unlucky of just realy bad?

I continued my search and came across a Graul marauder. After al long search and driving around i still didnt find anyting to tame and decided to kill the cl50graul marauder. Took my range and killed it in a few shots it took about 2-3% of my health while a single cl10 creature took 10%-15% that realy supprised me. The cl10 lesser bol seemed stronger than the cl50 graul marauder?!

Did anyone came across the same sort of thing or have any idea how this could be?

I am cl80 (mch/mbh/mschout/ranger0030)

this may be another bug. i experienced similar stuff yesterday. i shot at a baby bol (CL3) with critical and lethal shot (high damage shots). and even thou i didnt get a miss display the baby took no damage at all. my 3rd shot killed it. i saw this with some of my shots. sometimes they just dont do any damage (especially critical) - sometimes the shots are just bugged in the toolbar, i cannot do them for some time (even thou no cooldown timer appears). its one of the many "new features" that came with the CU.

I had a similar issue with bols yesterday as well. Passed by a lair and thought I should pick up onein case anyone I know needs a spare mount. No babies so I kill em off and tap the lair - hits with a laser rifle were doing 1k+. I thentake off and snagged a pair of huurtons and a graul maurader. I don't remember the exact numbers but when I came back I was hitting for about half the damageof what I originally did. The GMs were going down faster...

This sounds like it might be a variation of the mission level bug. I'll explain.

1) CL 60 grabs a level 60 Bol mission. When he arrives all mobs end up as C10.

2) Player abandons the mission

3) CL 40 wanders by and wants a baby to tame.. "CL10's should be a quick kill and maybe I'll get a baby to tame as a mount for a friend"

4) CL 40 has his pet die and is incapped by a CL10 creature

Here are my findings of why this is happening. I made a new character trying to test out the new CU (I'm a returning CH btw, came back about three weeks ago and left just after petstims came out). I would take a CL10 mission and when I get there the mobs would be CL7. Since it would still be xp for me, and what I thought an "easier kill" I would go ahead and complete the mission. Here is where you notice the problem. The creatures still take and give damage like they were CL10. So in essence I was fighting a CL10 creature but only getting the xp for fighting a CL7.

Now considering it must have been a fluke I tried it several times. Each with the same result. Next I grabbed my main (CL48 CH) and grabbed a couple missions on Dant too see if it was a lower lvl problem or universal. Though it seemed to happen 50% of the time with my lower lvl character, I did finally have it happen with my CH after about 2 hours. The mission was for CL46 Lesser Plains Bols (funny that is what the OP was talking about), but when I arrived they were CL10. Obviously they should go quick and this would be quick reward cash. Nope... the CL10's were just as hard to kill as the other CL46 missions I had gone on. I was doing damage to them like they were CL46 and they were hitting my pet for the damage that a CL46 would do. Though this isn't quite as bad as the BH missions where the CL is listed as 18 but when you get there your mark is CL50+

This could be what i came across.

When i think about it the lair did not have the normal name, but a mission lair name.

I didnt think of that because, who hunts lvl 10 creatures on Dantooine....

They could have been bugged missions.

Interesting. I had a similar problem on Dantooine a couple weeks ago, but with a twist. I took a pair of Graul Mauler missions, and they spawned as level-51 missions and the kills gave me one point of XP each.

I've run across the same sort of situation with my pets. One side note is that the DNA from these "different" but same level bols turns out to actually be different in stats. This makes determining what to sample even more difficult.

I believe it will be a while before BE's are able to provide creature handlers with valuable working animals.

We found this to be true on Tantooine... We recieved level 80 and level 81 missions out of Mos Vea. Got to the mission site and found the creatures (Bol i think) at lvl 22. We fought them as hard as lvl 80/81 creatures and they did damage like lvl 80/81 creatures but we only got 1 experience for each creature (hunting Party was lvl 50-80). We killed the nest and got full reward for the lvl 80 mission.

We did this same thing for a second mission. Same results. Must be bugged. We hunted else where....

Kind of a related note;

I have experienced creatures not taking damage appropriate to the displayed level (or sometimes not at all). I would use all of my specials several times to no effect. It was not until I did a /attack with the creature targeted that it began taking damage. After that point, all the specials seemed to do the correct amount of damage as well as the basic ranged attack.

Yes, its all about the bugged missions. Until they fix that, I suggest that if you come across a mission lair (named specifically), examine the creature's HAM first. If the HAM is 7k on a level 10 creature, its a bugged mission, just leave them alone. The level only reverts to natural level, so the creatures are still just as hard a fight as they would have been, except for they will not do as much damage because they are probably well below your level and therefore get a damage reduction.
