I make them into macros too, works well. You dont spam chat channels that way too.

I have all mine as macros, and use full words, such as attack, or follow, it seems to cut failure rates a lot, and it makes training new pets easier, as you just press the macro button after selecting the skill to train off the radial.
Incedentally, I dont have th emacros on the toolbar, I have them all bound to the different keys on the numeric keypad(for instance, the 1 key is bound to the /tellpet attack macro), saves lots of space on the toolbar for pets, vehicles and weapon specials etc.

Lol.....You don't have to even /tellpet...All you have to do is Radial Menue Pet.....go to train.....select your comand.../say what you wanna teach....if your attempt was successful then TADA!!!*edited*
OK so I had the Question mixed up.....just /say command or if your in spatial just type it and there yah go....But what I posted above is helpful for noobs Lol......

i teach my pet the attack command "a" then target an enemy and do "/tellpet a" but he doesnt do anything. am i doing something wrong?

When you tellpet the command has to be atleast two letters long.
So try training them with "atk" instead of "a". Then use /tellpet atk should work.
