Ok, now that we have fully understood the horror have the latest CH bashing - the aggro on the CH himself -, aren't there any workarounds? Other ways to pull MOB or to keep the soloing working? Pulling with traps? With droids? I ll try out a couple of things tonight. Any ideas?

Droids use th esame code as pets , which in itself is a huge blow, to the DE profession which is already close to useless, and to the level 1 crafters who use and group with a level 30 combat droid to help clear out mobs from harvesters, as now that cannot be done on NPC's, which all tend to be social, and on most lower level planets, the most common mob to find spawned on top of harvestors.

Again, a consequence I doubt was even considered before implimenting this, and something else I got ignored, and even flamed (get bodyguards lol) for pointing out in the bug threads.

There doesn't seem to be a known workaround yet but a person on the forums was talking about how BE were trying to figure a way around it, perhaps agro bonus changes its effect to actually be useful or something, im not sure, but at either rate, best to lay low in the world of PvE for awhile. Wait, no PVP, no PvE, looks like we're laying low from the entire world....

I do know what is not working ... I tried to tell the pet to attack and he meandered toward the creature (remember the days when cats would just tear up the grass getting to the target?) ... everything working as expected so far ... when he got in range and I saw the "!" go up I told him to follow to hopefully bring the creature back to me ... ok ... the creature then came at me and I kinda expected that with the new publish 'cause the pet stopped attacking with the "follow" command ... still working sort of as expected ... then told the pet to attack again and ... and ... and ... and ... the pet just stood there maybe 35m away grinning from ear to ear at my discomfort as the creature pummeled me!!! Not expected!!! I remember that the pets use to get confused with a "attack" pause "follow" pause "attack" and it looks like that still confuses them ... why oh why do I continue to subject myself to this abuse from the game ... I think I'll respec to something usefull like entertainer!!

The execution date is set ... the tortured screams of tens of thousands of beloved pets and their masters will resonate throughout the galaxies ... cover your ears and cry!

Really gonna tear us up against aggressive spawns. And as far as agression on BE pets goes, there is no creature, at least that I've seen, that gets even close to +400. All BE pets have low aggro currently.

I noticed this pre-pub 20. If I had the pet attack, then used the "follow" command to pull it back, the creature would not attack again until the MOB it was originally attacking died. However, I did note that the pet still followed me, so as long as I led the pet to the MOB, it would attack. /shrug

This was my experience, too. Pre-pub 20 it was just an annoying bug, but now it may get you killed. Since you have to approach the MOB, as soon as your pet attacks. You are that much closer for a counter attack. Sneaky critters.

Hey, it s not that bad. I can still pull. I either throw a trap or shoot one creature once, then back up a little and THEN send in the pets to rip it apart. Works fine so far.

I tried to pull something OOR yesterday with my R2 unit and it just stood there in combat mode not taking any other orders. Okay this might stop people pulling singles instantly from miles away but isn't a little harsh to have to camp or die just to be able to stroe your pet?

I've not really seen much difference to be honest. My pets do seem to obey me a lot more that they did. I am using the /tellpet commands keymapped to my key pad so maybe that is why I am having no command problems.I have been sending my narg trio in, one at a time sometimes, recalling, re-attacking and no probs at all. As soon as they start tearing up the enemy the enemy ignores me and keeps attacking my nargs. I start shooting and the nargs seem to be holding agro a little longer than they were before pub20. As a rule I never used to attack the lair with anything but my pistol anyway so no difference there. I am still managing to pull single enemies so at the mo I'm not dying. So all's well. However, on past experience I know that may change dramatically..........

That is going to be a serious problem. CL1 is one hit wonder. You need to be proactive when clearing harvs to check them. This prevents that if the code is doing what everyone is saying.

I'm not having the agro issues everyone haves so I don't know know what folks are hitting or if they have an area attackthat puts you in a state of agro. Just being in agro isn't enough to stop me. I don't have a default attack, I can be flashing red and actually noticed I need to be, my pet won't finish off a creature if I am not in agro. I went to Yavin, the plan being to pull Kliks but I couldn't find any. I gave up and pulled some crystal snakes.

If I pulled the closest one (myself) then had the pet agro at under 30 m nothing ever made it to me. If I tabbed in and pulled from the pack, anything between me and what I agroed would follow and I got ganked. Even then the pet got 2, I got one. He actually finished off the 2 that attacked him before I was done.

I'm not calling anyone names. I don't know why folks are getting pack jumped but my habits haven't really changed because of this. As far as exper climbing, it's not important what you hit, cl determines experience so for exper climbers, either non master or FS grinders, just avoid powerfull or advanced tactics mobs. Grind on known kills that can be pulled, have a junk rifle to pull agro yourself get the skirt dot, not a close to the middle and when it hits, run. At 29 M and not before have the pet attack and keep moving. When he has agro you can chime in and use whatever you used to hit and not draw agro.

For the ones who get the whole mob, it's a bug because I am not getting it. /bug it.

this really borks up CH's who has a melee profession as their combat. now i cant pull anything one at a time. i dont mind if the pet has to run all the way to the mob then come all the way back like before the CU. thats not the problem. i just dont think its fair that they force us to be a ranged profession just to pull solo mobs. all other games have some way to pull solo mobs for all professions. i think they need to redo this publish and still allow us to pull with a pet.
