Thread: 9 Days and Counting...

That's right folks it's been nine days since the publish. 9 long days of critters standing on us, or running from combat at record paces. 9 long days of silence from the staff of SOE. I thought at the begining, when vert and TH posted the issues threads that it would do some good to help out, so I dutifully went and put in my comments - which echoed the majority there.

Days went by, nothing. The pleas for at least a status on the issue started. TH spoke with his poke- and cowardly pet comments, and things went from simmering anger to rage for many of us. More days passed and we had several posts going, I think that I have counted 10 threads all addressing these "issues" going back through the history a bit. Sure some were a bit more heated than others, but does this really surprise anyone? Then today, it seems that someone came in and deleted at least one thread. If my memory serves me correctly, there was a lot of good information in there, well reasoned and fairly calm. To me it seems like this action would fuel the fire that SOE does not want to hear from us, or did not want the posts to remain on the forum, at the top. The sneaky part of me wonders if by taking these actions that someone at SOE doesn't want the higher ups to see what is going on? A cover up? I don't really believe that to be the case.

But I think that those in SOE are really missing the point. There has been no communication with the CH community on these concerns, and CHs are feeling very abandoned. Even Vert could help immensely by posting daily with something like:

Today I again e-mailed the Devs on a status of our concerns as you folks provided in out threads of "xxxx" I have received no response to these inquiries.

It doesn't solve the problem for us, but some may feel that at least it is not being forgotten. Without any communication, the anger on the forum has only increased, as people's fun of the game plummets with these "issues".

There have been a couple of very polite posts as well, still nothing that I have seen. The deletion of "non-offensive/vulgar" posts on this subject still astonishes me.

I suggest that a way to address this is perhaps a bit of civil disobedience. If each of us posted a thread, everyday in this forum, or another appropriate forum asking for the status of our questions, it would be very visible. I am not suggesting anyone post negative issues, but to try to make themselves heard. It sure can't hurt.

Whee! bet this gets deleted!

Looks like they just put a patch on TC to try to fix the pets sitting on us part.

We will be bringing down TC shortly for an update. Expected downtime is 45-60 minutes. We will be updating it with these fixes:

-Fixed a problem where players who left the Geonosian Bunker without completing it could not advance when they returned.

-Fix for problem where pets would stand on top of your character when following you.

-Fixed a problem with factories that was introduced yesterday.

Rurry,

You restrained yourslef better than I have been able to do. I have felt for a long time that the Dec nerf was the death of this profession and the deletion of our posts are nothing more than a knowing wink that we have hit the mark. TH does not care. Rune implied that much about he and Thunderheart as well. And as i have suggest in my very own conspiracy theory. Killing the CH profession is what I believe they hope to accomplish. Once there are few of us left, then they will merge us with BE. Once BE has the ability to use combat pets then it is a small step to allow DE to use combat droids. It fits in with the bigger scheme of things especially when you realize that Rune does not want to create the Driod Commander. If this is the case, I would suggest that they just tell us. Make the transfer. Grandfather all CH into the BE tree at the same experience levels and prequisite trees.

Like Hawk used to say "knowing is half the battle".

If they are putting something on TC, thank heavens! Would it have been so hard to say something to us?

One thing that's been happening to me with the latest publish, is the generally increased auto-storing of pets/vehicles. It's generally a lil more for me on corbantis,BUT on Bloodfin where my pet and vehicle disappear ONCE per 2 mission run, sometimes both disappear.

That's not to mention the bug that's been bothering me the MOST: the fact pets stop following on server boundaries. I absolutley hate having to watch my radar ALL THE TIME. And i generally lose em anyway, and quite frequently. There has never been any recognition of this bug by SOE or thunderheart. It's like frequently dropping your wpn, then having to goback and pick it up. Grr. Thanks.

now of they could make being a CH worthwhile again, they would allow use to tame any type of baby animal and not just a set bunch

whats the point of taming lvl 50 pets when you can get a lvl 30 BE pet just as good if not better

I liked this class too

Yes. The continued inability to make the most basic stuff work ... movement & not auto-storing, are this product's most embarassing failure. They keep trying to make us look at the shiny new toys, and forget that all the existing toys don't work as advertised, and have never been fixed despite endless promises to do so.

I don't care how flashy the sunroof and the stereo are in my car if the tranmission and ignition systems fail every time I go for a drive.

Fixing the basics is not a "priority," it is not "on the map," it is essential. You either do it or your product fails, simple as that. If this team can't get its act together and fix the literally hundreds of basic game systems that have been broken since Beta and are broken in new ways with every inadequately tested Publication, this project will fail ... spectacularly.

Well it appears that there is a "mini-publish" in the works to address some of the bugs. Another thread had Rune post that it is on TC. I sit and wonder how many people would not have been so angry if they had communicated something earlier. I'm glad they finally did, I just think that as a whole this has been a very negative experience for CH's-who already feel like the whipping boys of SWG.

I usually have to bite my tongue to keep from laughing when people say things like this, knowing full well they they'll pony up the same $15 at the end of this month, just like they did last month, for this "broken" and"failing" game.

(No offense - I've done the same thing. Never let it be said that the human race isn't, at its core, optimistic and hopeful, despite outward appearances to the contrary. And maybe slighty gullible to boot.)
