Thread: Question about BE clothing and a Clothing Attachment
Im a bit of a noob when it comes to CH and CA's
But my question is simple, I have a 17+ creature taming shirt, and a guildy just looted a +8 creature taming CA
Can i put that CA in the shirt so it makes up to 25+ creature taming?
Thanks in advance

I've not tried to "double up" two CAs with the same +ability on one item since the CU, but I know before the CU, you could not "stack" like that on one item of clothing. To get the +25 creature taming, you'd need to put one of the CAs on one item of clothing (let's saya shirt) and the second CA on a different item of clothing (let'ssay a pair of pants) and then when you wore the two items together you got the +25 complete bonus. Before when you tried to stack those CAs on the same item of clothing, you would lose the second one because it didn't just stack on top of the first one, and only end up with +17 for example, losing the +8 completely. (It would take the CA, but it would just disappear and not stack, leaving you out a +8 CA)
If something has changed since the CU, please correct me. I'm just going by the way it used to be since I've not tried this since. Good luck! ![]()
Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't taming clothing still broken right now?
My husband and I have Bothan toons on Ahazi--they are the only ones who have post-CU BE taming duds--they are getting aggroed right and left by CL 3's and 4's, and my husband is a MCH! All my other toons have pre-CU BE taming clothes and they tame up to very high levels with hardly a glitch. I am assuming it is the fault of the taming clothes--or are Bothans jinxed???
Methinks the clothing worketh not.

I think new taming clothing is working fine. I had horrible luck taming anything above CL 45 until I got the +25 taming item. I've had this change on both my MCHs. I know the Starsider taming item is new, because I made it.
i think its broken because i have a +13 shirt +25 pants +17 jacket all on at once and it may take me up to 20 trys to tame a lvl 60+ critter and sometimes i will just tame it right off, before one of these patchs not sure wich i remember taming anglers in 1 try every time if i had those clothes on
Any bonus beyond +25 does not work. There is a hard cap. (Food will stack, however.)
A few patches ago the taming formula was changed, so that even with clothes it is very difficult to tame high level creatures. They will still make a noticable difference in how many tries it takes, just not as noticable as they used to.
Yes you can put a CH tape onto a piece of CH BE clothing, mostly because the skill you actually getis 'Creature Taming Bonus' and not vicious or wild taming bonus. It gives you a completely different skill.
These cannot be stacked unfortunately, if you have the spare sockets and put in another SEA with same skill the higher will remain but you will lose a socket, so use another peice of equipment if using multiple tapes.
So basically you will still have a BE shirt with +17 to vicious and wild taming and then the CA which adds +8 to creature taming. Not +25 overall all seperate skills.
