So can you guys do me a big favor, I can't understand how the new CH system works.. I read the stuff, but I dont understand the experiance part, I think the only pet I have I am willing to give up to open a slot to tame new pets, is my arachne queen, since its my only post-cu pet..... help me guys, just a quick, to the point explanation....

Welcome back.

In basic then I hope.

Tame - innate ability = good - fight with pet ungrouped against enemies within5-10 levels of pets - xp will show in training xp part of datapad - pet teaches innate(random could be one kill could be until pet is fully levelled)- destroy pet(unless one you want to keep) - rinse and repeat.

Their are a few finer points but that covers it in general.

As to how the xp is figured out exactly your guess is a good as mine but it isn't too bad leveling up your pets.

Sorry if this makes you more confused it's 4am and I really shouldn't be trying to think coherently.

actually that makes alot of sense... now that i think about it... ok so with the new specials.. I know i get them from rnadom tames.... what determans the level of the special... the level of the pet? and what specials are the most saught after... i hate how i have to kinda start from scratch with my pets again.. even though i have used them more times then you can imagine...

Ok we have the 3 levels in each of the 25 skills, ignore pinning attack it went awol.

So level 1's can be learnt from CL 1-35, 2's 35-65, 3's 65+. With a cross over of 5-10 levels maybe so there is chance of getting a level 3 of a 60 say and a 2 from a 70 etc.

But in general those levels are close enough.

State attacks seem good, and any that increase pets health regen rate or other bonuses to damage, speed or accuracy.

I understand completely about not wanted to part with old friends. I know I could get better but I have stuff 12 months old and I can't think of playing without them.

Most of the innates that modify stats do not seem to work at the moment. Marring Storm, Vigorous Health, and Beastly Constitution do work for sure. Combat Agility might now that they fixed the chance for critical hits on pets to work (I want to get a BE pet, level it, and see if it adds to the visible percentage.)

I thought you said that all single spawns are respawning and having babies again.. and for kicks I tried out a plains hunter... no respawn for that eather, even though I have mine from launch and dont need another...

As far as I know, static spawns are still borked. I was told this morning before killing a GPS spawn that I found and have no pretty much for the last 3 1/2 hours tried to get a baby to spawn by riding away from it about 600 meters and back again and waiting for a respawn. 3 1/2 hours! LoL

It's because static spawns now have the chance to spawn a baby on the first (And only) spawn.

theorb22, not sure what you mean by (And only) unless you are just talking about when you kill it and it doesn't respawn from being killed. I was finally able to get a GPS baby a few minutes after I posted in this thread, doing exactly what I described I was doing. To me that constituted about 50 or 60 maybe more respawns of said GPS.

You guys are talking 2 diff things on the respawn.

1) Prior to the CU and the new CH Pub a static spawn like the Great Plains Stalker on Corellia would have a single creature out when you came across it. If it was not a baby (which 99.9% of time it was not) you would kill the first creature and wait for the second creature to spawn. If another adult you would then kill it and wait for the third creature to spawn. Just like a lair would spawn 3 waves of creatures.

2) Post CU the static spawns no longer repawn a creature if you kill the first one when you come across it. The new method to get the static spawns to pop a baby is to NOT KILL THE FIRST CREATURE IF IT'S AND ADULT!!! What you do instead is set a waypoint, drive away about 450 to 500m and then return to the waypoint. They server will reset and when it calls up the creature from the database there is a chance that instead of an adult it will be a baby. I know this works cause I did it last night taming Thune Grassland Guardians on Dantooine. I must have spawned a dozen or more of them from 4 seperate lairs that were very close to each other. I wound up with 2 that had innat specials! woohoo!

Hope that helps.
