you'll definitely want to go master rifle/mch. it's not worth getting flame 4 in commando, master rifle outdamages any commando that's not a master.

I might be dropping master bioengineer soon (after I make myself all the pets I could ever want) and taking up either Rifle or some Commando (for flamethrower). And my projectedbuilds look like this.

however, Im trandoshan, and due to limited mind, I dont plan on using manyspecials, so just figure using regular attacks, out of the 2, what would be more powerful?

Don't get me worng, the flamer rocks but go master rifleman. You get as much maybe more firepower and a lot more DF, plus you can pick up some medic.
