IM a BE 2/2/4/2 CH 3/3/3/3. And I quit..(singing) Everywhere I go, the people want to know. looking for a solo group. Because im a tka and i can solo anything in the game...Enough ranting..Why would anyone want to group with a CH when a TKA can tank anything. Hey DEVS get you head out of your 4th point of contact. Im so tired playing this game by myself just so my pets can get destroyed. and before you yell at me I USE PET STIMS. This is my first negative post and for that im very Sorry..
I wish we did not have Bikes and speeders, i remember a time when you rode in on a grizzled dewback and people said ( wow cool a CH on a dewback) now i get tells like, why do you ride that thing, speeders are only 10k. Some times they even tip me the money out of sympthy. I wish NPC and NPC creatures were hard and a good CH was a part of every group. are days are limited. Im selling all my pets in my data pad. IM on sunnrunner and my name is EasyE. send a tell if intrested..Once agian im sorry about the ranting, raving, negative post......

*sigh..
sorry i can't compare old Ch to new Ch.. as i'm newish..
but i can say that pets still have great uses..
a friend of mine is a MBH with a pet bantha named Harry (he's not a CH)..
just 2 nites ago we were on endor by the starport.. and there was a Super Battle Droid nearby..
so he says.. we're going to kill that.. i tell him he's crazy.. we just got buffs.. just landed.. haven't cloned on planet yet.. and he pulls out harry..
so i start digging thru my bags of un-crating stims.. and harry charges in..
well me plinking away with my dxr6 CARBINE (not rifle.. that's right CM/carbineer.. not CM/rifleman 8p)
and he start cycling thru all 17 of his guns.. meanwhile harry happily tanking away while i'm wondering if Harry's gonna OD on this medicine..
went thru LOTS of stims.. but in the end.. SBD-0 Harry MBH and Myself 1/3 each 8)
if it was just the 2 of us that would never have happened.. if we had some defense stacked player.. we prolly could have done the same.. but we didn't.. and that was with a NON-CH level BE'd pet..
on the few trips we've taken to DWB/Vette.. we love having our MCH along.. pets add extra DPS.. (who cares how much/little.. every bit counts).. and make reasonably god surrogate tanks when they have to..
plus with area heals.. you heal 3 pets or more for the price of one..
and if you can get pets in there with specials.. that DOT.. all those little 2-300 damage diseases and poisons really add up in BF on those NPC's and critters..
anyway.. just thought i'd share that story.. and hope you might take another look at remaining one of the more INTERESTING professions in the game..

I definatly can relate it started slowly but i was slowly becoming the (group with us for big missions boy in my city) most have realised that it was getting out of hand since i need my pets with me alot and have stopped asking, well actually after Blackmans interview half have left lol.
I hang my master rifleman title so people in cities wont ask
that has become our primary role despite what many believe we are mission buffers lol
my advice is not to give up CH but run run far away lol /joke :-)
good luck

hey somerandomuser... what server ya on... if its radiant it might have been the SBD that followed me from the bunker...
as for the topic at hand... solo groups are good for exp and money...
but i dropped CH a lil bit ago... just for something else to do... i'm working my way through combat pros... imastered pikes, didn't like them all that much... so then on to TKM... and you are correct that a tkm can tank anything... did a few krytes the other night with y TKM/Mrifle, with a lil med and scout to boot... but i found that it was faster to kill them when i had my 2 BE pets doin the tanking...
i also find myself working over lairs tryin to pop babies still... got another widow baby to spawn in 2 lairs the other night... sent a tell out to milteck to see if any BEAST were around to tame it... 5 mins later he shows up and tamed it first try, cource a wookie with taming clothes should get it first try =P...
and i miss my pets...
somthing to consider before you give it up... doc buffs and armor are gonna be nerfed... a good MCH will once again be welcome in any group (just like the old days when maulers were a plenty)... just now it'll be BE gurrecks everywhere...
with my Mpike/Mrifle i was soloing elders w/out concealshot before this last update... now 2 or 3 rangers give me a hard time tanking (its nice being choked again lol)... petsaregreat for that... on average when i had MCH i could do the lvl 99 rancor missions in less than a minute... takes me alot longer now... god forbid i'd want to going after Bulls, their disease hurts even with meditation to cure it and heal the wounds...
i'll be back with MCH, still have all my pets... it will be a sought after profession in the next couple of months...

tell ya the uses of pets... I had a CL50 rancor Keneticc 60% tank 1 giant and 1 regular kimo twice the other day... yeah I used some stims up BUT after 40-50 minutes of combat it was Urra/Max 4 Kimo's 0... and we feasted well on the corpses...

Another prime example of the usefulness of CH. Last night I'm helping my noob friend place his first house and in our area (Arch Mesa hills on Bria) there is not a whole lot of choices due to the many canyons in the hills. So we findprime spot, nice view, near my house but there's a nest of Dragonets nearby. Buffs had just worn off and we were both pretty vulnerable. we forget to pull our pets and attack the nest. Bam!!! We're both looking at the stars. So we recoup, regroup and pull our pets. 2 mins later the nest was gone and there were Dragonet corpses all over the place. Alone we sucked, with pets in tow we were unstoppable!
Bottom line, as a MCH, you bust out 3 mid level pets, 2 from his d-pad and, voila' you have a small army. 7 HAM pools to hit are definitely better than 2. Add in the DOT damage of Arachne webmaster poison, Screecher plague stirke, and knockdown here and there and you have yourself a mean combo. Yes, granted, we canstill get owned by a good PvP fight, yes, mounts are obsolete, but damn it, I love the profession and if, in a few months, everyone else gets nerfed, then we are going back to the good ol days of tanking for large groups! I miss that and those days!! Brig on the nerfs!

I have to concur that for PVE and some PVP, creatures are a help.
I am a MCH and a Master Rifleman. Seems a lot of CH'ers use rifles as I do
I pull 2 Handak crushers and an ATST to get the best missions possible on Dantooine...usually Mokk or Jantas. I then goto the nest, get about 80m or so back, pull out a pet and let it attack the nest. All the creatures then key on the pet, making a nice lil' target for a cone fire (Strafe2) shot. If one happens to key on me, I can get the pet to defend me and peace the aggro.
The BE pets unfortunately are better than ones I can tame now. That is kinda sad. I hate usin the BE stuff, but it makes for better creatures. Someone mentioned about DWB and pets also come in super-handy for that, as they can occupy the SBD's while I try and take em out with my Geo rifle.
For PVP, I have 3 Gurrecks (BE'd) with KD and Dizzy attacks, they collectivley add up as close to 70CL as I can get. I find that pets add to the confusion of being attacked and a lot of times my opponent will make critical mistakes as I can then take them out with my Jawa. I am thinking of trying to use 3 BE Tortons, hehehe and shake them out of their boots.
A few timesI told myself I'm quitting CH and in the end, ya know, I don't need the "uber template of the month". I like my pets, they are all unique, and I have fun. I had dragons in Ultima Online and it is just as fun, except there is a much greater variety in the Galaxy.
Take Care,
Junga Stuart
