Creature Handler Archive

This may be true, BUT how many players have dabbled in CH and/or have some CH skills without ever becoming a MCH? This is no reason to discount CH as a legitimate profession just because not everone masters it.

In my travels as a CH, I have helped many players with their missions often shorthanded. My pets were often the only thing that stood between a sucessful mission or death. I did my swordsman grind almost completely unbuffed (less than 8 times!) and mostly solo and I owe it to my pets for keeping me alive. During this grind, I was NEVER a MCH.

The think the main reason that many people do not master CH is because the grind is painfully long, since you can't macro it, and becuase of the great NERF and subseqent mini-Nerfs to our profession. CH was once a powerful combat profession but SOE decided that it shouldn't be and thus weakened our beloved pets

In my data pad, I can count 14 critters. 6 of them obtained by myself via a BE or in the wild. The remaining 8 are all adopted by former creature handlers who gave up the profession. The main reason: they needed the skill points to complete their respective templates or becuase CH was weakend so much, the need to pick up other combat skills If anyone did something to damage CH, it was SOE itself!

Having been a CH so long and proudly wearing the titles and displaying my pets, I have learned one thing... easily 40% of the players I have met have dabbled in CH and all have had a mount at some time. And of the people who actually became novice CH's, they all loved the profession and wished the could have kept it.

It's a shame that the developers at SOE are not also players themselves because they would have seen what was really happening in the game. 1% my ass.... statistics can be a very misleading thing. BTW, I'm glad my inner instinct told me NOT to buy ToOW given SOE's track record.
