I just came back from a long absence. My best little hunting partner, Boulders, my gronda has been severely taken down. His armor made him the best little workhorse, making him very cheap to maintain on petstims. We had some great adventures, but I guess it's over now. I do have questions though. Since light armor was so useful for economical animal harvesting, what now is the lowest pet with armor? Now that BE's can customize pets, can they make a pet with armor and little else for cheap tanking?

I have 3 pets, all @ cl 30....all have light armor. 2 of them have 30% Kinetic resists and the other has 53%. This was by far the best bio pets Ive been able to buy (the 2 30% kinetic cost 80k each and the 53% cost 300k). Of course I can't use any of them since I no longer have the skill points in CH.

Just ask around for a Master Bio-Eng, they will make a pet worthy of your Gronda.

The last poster is corect, contact a BE and they can make you a nice pet with light armor good kenetic/energy and put it in whatever skin you want (almost) the CL for light armor can be pushed quite low but often the dammage will take a pasteing if its pushed below 35 or so.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

This mornng I just bought three pets on Sunrunner light armor and 50-60% kenetic resists. I have one other that is light armor and 60% kenetic resist. They are all under level 36. The two drylakes are cl30 and the cu pa's are 34 & 36.

Yeah, that armor makes a huge difference in tankng. But, let me tell you a MASSIVE help which in my judgement makes them 10x better? buf them.

I have a cat with 54% kenetic resist and no armor. She is cl21 and has 9k ham. With a full set of buffs she tanked a thun lair solo while the rest of us pounded away with ranged weapons. Now when I hunt, espacially when I solo or have the only pets, I get them buffed if I can as it makes such a difference. You rarely have to use stims on them during the buff time also another big plus.

One important thing... don't store the pet once it is buffed. If you store it it loses it's buffs.

What are pets buffed with? Food?

No, the buffs are the same doc buffs that are used on players. Only problem with that is you have to hire a doc to run around with you because your going to have the auto-store bug at least once an hour. Not to mention pathing errors where your pet suddenly cant walk faster than 1 meter every 10 seconds. Only way to fix that is to store the pet, but you lose the buff.

Basicly its more trouble than its worth unless you are a Doc yourself or have a friend that is willing to follow you around for 3 hrs buffing constantly.

I must be very lucky as my pets have never autostored. One day I had off I had them ou tfor 6 hours straight and two sets of buffs. To me the 6k pet pet is worth every penny.

You can't have a pet with 65% to kinetic. The kinetic resists for all player useable pets was set to 60% max with or without armor. I'm pretty sure I've seen 60%+ animals in the wild, but nothing that spawned babies or could be sampled by a BE.

Auto-storing seems to be heavily planet dependent (and server I imagine). On Corellia and Dathomir I never have a pet auto-store. I went to Tatooine and had my spider store three times in thirty minutes. Fortunately I avoid Tatooine at almost all costs.

There is a work around to the slow walk, too. Try feeding your pet, even if you have no food or it isn't wounded. Some tricks such as spiders' 360 spin also work. These turn your pet to fact you and reset their facing to match their axis of forward movement. You may need to move and repeat trying it once or twice, but this will usually fix the slow walk.

I have a cat with who is CL 30 has light armor and 60% kinetic resists (may actually be 63% i duno im at work) it also has ranged attack and dizzy strike. BE'd pets are leagues beyond tamed ones now, contact a BE and you will love the new pets, although you will hate some of the other changes.

As far as BE pets forPvPmy fav is my Vir Vir of death... (ranged attack, KD,dizzy strikeand he hits for over 500 with 9kish ham)
