Well CH was my only combat skill but now I'm wondering if I'm better of taking up a brawling skill or a gun skill. Seems like my 30-40 level pets are garbage. Might have to start fighting those small critters outside of town.Well I think I'll master but when I do I'll give all the skills back fast. It's funny seeing TKM soloing Rancor mission. Oh well Ch were once at the top now we have fallen to the bottom. I guess I might have to run destroy missions on corilla then missions on endor.

Is a 70 level pet worth it?

Pistoller or Rifleman is good with CH.

No, a level 70 pet is not that useful, only prestigeous. In the 30's you can get a BE pet with ar1 and 60 kinetic that is strong as a rock.. but you will have to supply the damage. The pet just keeps the creatures off you.

If it will be your ONLY combat skill, CH is less than useless.

I have to agree with this.

CH alone wasn't all that uber even at the height of its power. Combined with an advanced pure combat profession, just about anything requireing a brawler or marksman line to get novice, it could be very uber.

CH was also a vital part of powerful groups of players, up until the damage mitigation and advanced armor came into the game and made player tanks superior to creature tanks, and made having a CH in the group unimportant. There was a time when players could not tank well at all against high end content, and CHs brought the meatshields with them.

Now brawler professions, with armor, damage stacking, and buffs can more than hold their own against most high end content. Against a peko peko albatross, for example, a TKM is good only as a meatshield for others...they can't make much of a dent in a creature with 100% kinetic resists. That's what the ranged guys and CMs are for.

SioBabble is correct.

I know for a fact because I just gave up CH. Just as a Master Pistoleer with 70% armor and buffs, I could out tank my pets. It became a waist of time to even call them out for missions, specially when the pet running was going on. Pets do not make the missions any quicker if you have the right Combat professions, armor, and buffs.Get a Ranged profession mixed with a nice mele profession, you are much better off than pets. Not just fordefense stacking wise, ie stacking dodge. You are able to shot from afar and then when the mob comes up on you just pound it going mele. You have more options than just send in pet, hope you dont get agroed. I like CH, but I eventually saw CH as a gimped fighting class that will never be fixed in PvP.

My current build, Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler/ going for Master Teras Kasi. Once I master TK, the ranged/mele defense I get from Pistoleer and Terascompletely makes CH obsolete. I kill everything with or without kiting, howeveruber mobs with 300k ham I can't. Just ask yourself, would you rather have to worry about a pet constantly (healing wise/running)or be free to concentrate on killing your enemy.

Thank You, Well I was a dancer medic Ch. As a dancer Iwanted topick a very strong combat class by itself to off set all the point's I've used to master dancer. Well early on I would say Ch was the way to go. It did work well but now it seems pets aren't very good at combat. They changed Fang into Fluffy.

Too bad I liked Fang!!!!

Maybe on day Creature Handlers will be able to walk the galaxies and people might fear them well I can hope. I guess I'll have to take up the flame-thrower to compete now.
