Was giving individual pets their commands by their name disabled? Did it ever function? Am I left with only training pets with different commands?

stuck with different commands I'm afraid although if all the comands start with the criters name you'v basicly got a command by name :/

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

I give my pets different commands. Since I usually use a particular set of 2 or 3 the commands are

g
gg
ggg For group

k
kk
kkk For attack

f
ff
fff For follow

That allows me to selectivly use the most practical commands with out alot of typing or use up valuable hotkey space

I think it would be much better if we just can name the pet and teach it for every commandone word without the pet-name. And when we say 'pet-name' + 'voicecommand' only the pet with the name will follow the command and if we use 'voicecommand' all pets that listen to this will listen.

Let me give an example:

Pet 1:

-Name: Bulk

-attack-command: kill

-stay-command: stay

-follow me-command: come

Pet 2:

-Name: Kirk

-attack-command: kill

-stay-command: stay

-follow me-command: heel

Now presume you have both pets out at the same time and you say:

-kill: both pets will attack the selected target (if valid)

-stay: both pets will stay at place

-Bulk stay: only pet 1 (Bulk will stay at place)

-Kirk kill: only pet 2 (Kirk)will attack selected target (if valid)

-come: only pet 1 (Bulk) will follow you

I think this would be great to have but for this i think we can bring up some patient.

No, I still have many commands trained for specific critters, such as "Huey guard" or "Rover stay", when I want to be able to tell one critter do something but not tell all of them to do something. Once I hit MCH and had two or three out all the time, it became necessary to have customized orders for some commands, so that I could hold one GSP in reserve after sending the first one in, for example. Or have the gurreck do his thing and the dewback stand back and act as aggro on me catcher. I also needed critter specific commands for some RP macros for mounting the dewback ("Hiyo Huey, away!", with trick one!) and the savage humbaba.

A wookiee MCH friend of mine named all of his pets "Buddy" which required him to have varient commands that were not name specific, for obvious reasons.

I think it would be much better if we just can name the pet and teach it for every command one word without the pet-name.

This is how commands were supposed to function. It was stated this way in the beta manual, and if I am not mistaken, in the real manual as well.

It almost works with /tellpet. If a pet knows "kill" for the attack command and you "/tellpet (Pet) kill", it will actually attack! Unfortunately, so will all other pets that are out. Using parenthesis is cumbersome as well.
