Thread: Gaping spider queens (not so rare as we think)

On my travels outside the dathomir outpost , im hunting rancors , nightsisters , etc for loots for me and the guild and I always seem to come across a lair 
and of course iwipe out lair forresources andwhatnot and what do isee ? always 1-2 gaping spider queen babies spawn from these lairs. Should we really consider these spiders "rare" as they are listed as they are commonly found around the planet? another creature i think should be taken off the rare pet list , as the rhoa kwi guardian was easily available as well ... just a thought.. i wanna get some feedback on this pet , who has got one , was it hard to obtain (meaning locating , getting a baby to spawn, etc)

Rares tamed - screecher, arachne widow, bull rancor (lucky find), thune grassland guardian, swamp stalker , rhoa kwi packleader, merek deathheads
Not so sure rare anymore - gaping spider queen tamed x 4 (released) , rhoa kwi guardian x 2 (released also)
current search - greater plains hunter (day 10) seen 2 adult spawns so far , bound and determined to get this cat lol

The queens are thought to be rare because the lairs are not all that common. if a baby spawns, there is a lesser chance of it being a queen compared to a homogenous lair because there are other spider types in it.

I was just killed by a Gaping Spider Queen the other night, in an attempt to kill it and draw out a baby.
Albeit Disappointing, I was honored.

what i really mean is i run into these lairs everytime out on dathomir, i am currently there right now and i have run by 3 lairs with gaping spider queens and as you say other subspecies (gaping spider , gaping spider broodlings) but i bet i can tap this lair or each one once and find a baby 90-95% of the time on each of these lairs, why i was questioning the rarity of these spiders....i tamed 4 (released all, since not so rare) UNCOMMON is the word maybe like the toxic merek battlelord baby is now uncommon , but you see them with regularity

I agree with you on the Rhoa Kwi's. The pack leaders are called rare by some people. But I have tamed several, and never spent a single minute looking for them. The queen I spent a bit of time on and never found them. Their poor stats is the only reason I didn't continue to pursue a baby.

Really? I drew TMB lair missions from the terminals, went to the first one, tamed two delirious mereks and a toxic, destroyed the lair, and didn't bother with the second mission. 17k cr and three great pets.

Can't say I've seen a gaping spider queen baby, but i haven't looked. I definately agree with the rhoa kwi guardians, I've seen at least three without too much effort.

Ok, if just one more person says that they stumble over a rare pet everytime they turn around I'm going to commit mass murder and then really throw a hissy fit

(Thought about taming the dust bunnies but they have such low resistances). Rare pets,hah!DONT EXIST I TELL YOU. THEY'RE A MYTH. A CONSPIRACY. AND YOU'RE ALL OUT TO GET ME!!!

lol the rare pets are out there just takes some time to find them and alot of luck doesn't hurt
