Thread: Idea: Petgroup window + Auto-CL adjustment
1. get rid of the /group command
no longer needed
2. pet CL gets auto-adjusted to the CL of the master
e.g. if master is CL60, pet is CL30, it gets boosted to CL60 without the need to be grouped
e.g. if master is CL60, pet is CL30, master grouped with a CL80 player, pet gets boosted to CL80
3. when calling a pet or more, an extra pet window pops up, which shows HAM etc. similar to the current group window. It is similar to the pet window in WoW, where you get a small pet window under your character window. Just needs to be drag- and resizeable, maybe even an option to turn it off completely.
This system would help definitely pets to survive and make them more useful in full groups.
/group is still quite useful in situations where you don't have the maximum slate of players.
However, I really like the idea of a "pet group" window that would allow pets to be part of the group and get the CL adjustment while not counting against the 8 member celing. One of the big advantages of having the pet in a group is the ability to monitor its health status along with the other members, and I hate not having that ability now when I'm in a large group. It makes pet management very difficult, especially in the heat of battle.

no bad idea.. last thing i want is this game to be even more like WOW
/agree when I want to play WoW I log in there. I came to SWG to play SWG not a poor buggier version of a poorly balanced level system with WoW like UI

So, you like it that you cant have your lower CL pets at your CL when in a full group and you like it that you cant monitor your pets health with just one look at their healthbar, but instead having to mouseover in the cluster of players and mobs to hopefully find your pet?

How does my idea make SWG = WoW? Sure i mentioned WoW because they have IMO a friendlier system for monitoring your pets health.
Since I don't play WoW, or any other accursed elf game, I had no idea this was something cribbed from them.
Still, I'd like to be able to monitor my pets in combat at a glance, and the current limitations of grouping sometimes make that difficult.
Which is why I think this is a good idea.

I already had this idea quite some time (pre-CU) ago, but i guess it is time to bring it up again, revamped. With the new CL system and pets being boosted in CL when grouped but eating player space (female narglatches anyone?), some changes would make CHs in groups happier.

That is a fantastic idea. I have never played WOW so I have nothing to whine about like some of the other posters. ![]()
I have always wanted something like this. It would help if when you befriended a pet that the person that has the pet befriended gets a window too.

Let's say the CH is CL 58, and his pet is a CL 70 Rancor. Your system makes the pet a permanent CL 58.
No thanks. I masterd CH to weild CL 70 creatures, not CL 58
Well, that would have to change of course. Something like if pet CL > master CL, auto-adjust does not apply.

In all fairness I agree that we need to have our pets health visable at all times. The way that it was done in the past was to have our pets in the group. That was one of the neat things about SWG that kept it unique and quite workable. They could bring that back and/or allow the pets to be on the list without counting to the magic 8
