Thread: Cl 60 can take a creature level 80

Here are the possibilities.

1. This guy was running with a creature that was post second pass. That is totally feasible you could get a creature with signifigant hitting power and ham to do it. Thats simply not the case now.

2. The guy was useing a bugged tamed pet. I got a baby festering squill not too long ago that was just that criminally bugged. All it did was special attack knockdown nonstop. My guess that is the level 60 he may have been useing. All it did was chronically knock the target down. After a day that stopped. My guess is he got his hands on a buggy critter and simply warp grew it. Might explain why the devs are clueless to how hard it is to grind ch now. They never have to wait the ten days for them to grow up.

3. He is a combined level 80 character and was grouped with his pet at the time. This is feasible my prowling gurrek can nearly equal up to a level 83 creature when it is grouped with me. My temp is MBH/MCH. Though I never let my pet actually finish the creature.

4. He likes picking fights with bugged creatures. Say sicking a cat on a kimo. Pointless joke seeing that the kimo model has and probabally always will have rangeing issues that force them to run turn run turn. My level 40 kimo died at that hands of a dewback not too long ago.

5. He was useing a BE pet made halfway through the BE upgrade, or a pet that actually has working stats and specials.

In my oppinion here are the real answers though.

1. He is the gopher of the group you know the guy standing in line at duncan donuts, and has nothing to do with actual gameplay issues.

2. He was under the influence of some substance.

3. He is basically ignorant of what is going on, but likes to talk big.

4. He is a pathological liar.

5. He reveres the movie clerks and its midwestern values when it comes to customer service. Oh no man the coffee is supposed to taste like year old gymshorts.

Basically to do this with a pet alone and nothing else. You either have to be doing something that is not supposed to happen, or you have no clue and just make stuff up. In the end I wager this guy just did not know. Much like all his buddies they do not know. Remember these are the same geniuses that swore up and down the tusken rifle was never ever a kinetic weapon. Even after players produced screen shots, and the adamantium tusken came out kinetic before they changed it the next day. Oh and by the way never expect the guy to own up, and say whoops I was wrong for whatever reason. The devs never say they mess up. They say unintended issues cropped up. Like some guy came out of the dark and twisted shadows and clubed two dwarves. Some guy they never had anything to do with.

Ponders the simpson episode where lisa says its better to be silent and thought the fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Homer then says takes one to know one. Who would have guessed homer simpson was on the team. Well the bobbly bird that hits the same key over and over. Hey guys look what the bird cooked up. We can have jedi whos heads rotate and shoot out a deathbeam. We gotta put that in today if at all possible.

Well I have held the position for a long time that the devs are infected with the anti-CH bug. Just another valid fact that points towards that theory.

Truth be told the devs did take a schlacking from the pokemon master thing so they obviously hate the profession that got them made fun of. So they continue to nerf the profession, and basically sidestep the fact that they are just abuseing customers at this point.

Isn't the Blurrg Raptor a cl60 elite? Maybe he spawned himself a baby and set it on a regular cl80 mob?

i dont know if this helps u guys but if u invite your pets to your group and if your a lvl 80 your pet is now a lvl 80 .....so a cl 60 pet would be as good as a lvl 80 mob i use this tactic for jedi hunting 2 cl 80 rancors + a droid which also gets bumped to lvl 80 cause of grouping with me gives them the damage reduction making my pets as good as the mob im fighting

The dirty little opensecret of early release SWG is that CH worked, for themost part, and just about every other elite profession was broken. For that, CH was nerfed repeatedly INSTEAD of attention being given to the other professions. CH had to become as broken as the rest for "balance."

Because CH was a highly visible profession, the "pokemon galaxies" thing became what the critics of SWG latched on to. The dev have never lived it down.

Another part of the equation is that CH was supposed to be Raph Koster's "baby" of SWG, and he was "kicked upstairs" only a few short months after release. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the general antipathy among the devs toward CH has something to do with that.

As an example of the brokenness of other elites, the melee profs on release didn't have mitigation, didn't have center of being, and didn't have the HAM to be tanks the way critters or probots did. The solution? Nerf critters and probots, EVENTUALLY do something about the melee profs, which was to give them defenses that unbalanced the game another way.

The sad fact is that the elite professions, both combat and crafting, were never adequately tested in beta. So things happened like uber comp armor, high end resource buffs, and virtually invincible defense stacking templates that sparked a call for a revision of the combat system, and the result was the wretched CU we're dealing with now.

Those who say pet is taking the CL of the group I beg to differ. I tested pet ungrouped from me, and grouped with me, and it took the same and dealed the same damage on equal lvl mobs of the same type. Either its not getting the group level bonus, or it gets my bonus even when ungrouped. I tend to think the latter as a lvl 46 creature got destroyed in seconds by a lvl 80, which would not happen if it was getting bonus.

Of course Ihave been known to bewrong.

What an excellent summary of the game's dev cycle. Rather than fixing what doesn't work, they nerf what does.
