Thread: Need clarification on lvl 65 varactyl.

I believe you have to have the DD to get the quest, and you do need to be a MCH since only a MCH con control it once its fully grown. You can't have someone who is not a MCH start the quest. Also, you cannot loot the nest unless you have the quest and have finished it, you can't jump in for someone else to get another one.

i relly don't think you need the D to do the "quest"..just go try it..it takes 5 min if the jagged fang is there..talk to the guy with the varactyl in the rodian camp in the se of the map..see if he gives you the quest... and let us know

I keep hearing mixed views on this, but I would imagine that this quest would be open to all MCH players reguardless if they had the DD or TE. The only difference should be the freebie.
Just so everyone is clear on the quest. The varactyl can be received in two ways...correct. Everyone who uses the DD will receive the varactyl mount, which is a level 10 creature anyone can use. The varactyl quest can only be done by master creature handlers who have also purchased the DD. The reward for this quest is the level 65 varactyl.

That's what I thought, you have to have the DD in order to get any Veractyl since it's exclusive to that package.

It actually makes sense to me. What's the point of giving everyone a varactyl as a reward for purchasing the DD, and then turn around and make an even better version of that reward available to everyone else as a quest reward? Granted its for CH's only, but still.

Now, if they made an even better BARCavailable to those who didn't buy the TTE as a quest reward, then you might have an arguement.

on the contrary anyone who kepps ch after the curb deserves a reward no matter which way they bought the expansion..
unlike the barc, the mch varactyl has a very limited market..and in order to get one you aren't a noob..you have to be at least mch..now you see noobs with as much as 10 mil on my server, for selling thier barc in mos eisley, and they have no idea how to play the game even..i sold my lvl 10 varactyl for 2 mil, but i could never get that for my 65, as only a ch could use it, and let's face it ch's aren't the most affluent toons out there..
imo the huge prices for barcs are messing up the economy..how long did it take you to get your first mil?..now you can 10 mil in your first minute in the game..they should make a way for barcs to be available as to stop these instant millionairs..imo
