Thread: Is there anyway to speed up the growth process of babies?
The devs have never confirmed what I am about to type, but I think it's safe to say that this is the general consensus of veteran CHs.
Your pets will grow no more than one 'tick' every12 hours, assuming you log in at least once every 12 hours. There is no confirmed relationship between fighting with pets, or feeding them, or having them do tricks, or even just calling them out of the datapad and their growth rate. You can not log in for a couple of days and they might grow a tick or two, but th fastest rate is once every 12 hours based on you logging in at least once during that period.
Now, having said that, it appears that higher level pets do sometimes grow at faster rates than lower level ones. This was observed by myself during JTL beta. It might take six days for a mountain dewback to grow to full size, and it only takes three days for a rancor to grow to full size.
So, in conclusion, the fastest you can get a pet to grow is one tick every 12 hours. There is no way to speed this up, unless you're on TC and they've got pet growth set to grow based on calling, for testing purposes to get test results based on full sized pets in a short period of time.
If you do not log in they will not grow. Go off for a week and come back and no growth will have occurred. Here is the formula at its bear bones.
You log on for a day and the pet will grow one tenth of its level. The only exceptions seem to be a number of low level critters which due to their low level will grow faster. Since the base growth rate seems to be 3. So a level 9 creature will grow up in three days. A kreetle can go full grown in one day of gameplay.
It is a 12 hour cycle or so it appears. So you should be playing from early afternoon till 9 or so in the evening to jump over the terminal line.
So in sumation most pets can be gotten to grow 20percent in a day but no faster.

this does not necessarly apply to higher leve pre curb rare pets..noteablythe gps, wdb and bull rancor..of the five of these i tamed, the all reached maximum size in 3 days..often they would grow 30 cl's in a session..
this was a pet peeve of mine, as after a long hunt, it was, for me, nice to have the baby for a while..not sure if this has beed adressed since the curb or not
