Someone was reading our boards? /emote sniffs around for the Dev. /emote taps the Dev detector wondering why it didn't work?
/emote blinks twice and reads the pet/vehicle lines again. /emote shrugs and sits down. /emote stand and quickly re-reads those lines.
/emote faints in disbelief that someone actually read our board.
if you think this has anything to do with CH's moaning, think again.
re-read it. it says pets/vehicles. The operative word there is 'vehicles'. Since everyone and their grandma now has at least one, if not three vehicles in their datapad, *that's* who the devs are catering to.
thank god the two are tied together. I'm sure if they really wanted to spend the time doing it, they'd split the two and leave CH pets out to dry while allowing vehicle owners to zip around like mad whenever they feel like.
not that I'm bitter or anything.

Kitoth is spot on here.
The camp calling requirement only got critical mass for a change with the advent of vehicles, and their initally high degree of bugginess (i.e. the vehichle poofing out from underneath you smack dab in the middle of the Western Dune Sea). Then the camp calling requirement became an annoyance to the entire player base, not just the hated poke-masters. So the devs responded. If there were no vehicles still, elminating the camp calling requirement would not be on the radar.

Yep. Funny thing is the only real griefs anyone came up with actually involved vehicles

Because it is set to detect writing to the forums not reading them.

Well honestly reading the CH board I never thought that we were going to get anything done about it. I mean who gives a rats behind if a CH has to make a camp to call a pet? I mean we HAVE to take scout anyhow. I knew that the only people who are going to have the strongest case to get this changed was the commando or any other class that doesn't have scout and cannot make a camp.
But Regardless. Think about our class??? We are the only class that get's our weapons for free and doesn't have to pay to maintain them? OK, yes there are pet stims but any other combat class has to pay for medic stims. But if you are a good enough CH you don't need pet stims. You will have the rotation down pat where you can rotate your pets in and out and let them heal in your datapad while you are useing others. I got the first 2 boxes in most of my CH useing 3 Grand Wrixes and never having to heal them just kept switching them out when they too more than 1/2 damage. and by the time I rotated around to the first one again it was fully healed. (IE no need for pet stims)
And I know I've read that a CH has nothing of value that is economically sellable? Seems to me that in order to get Novice CH you need hunting 4....Have you tried to harvest? I make thousands of credits a week selling meat, hides, bone, and milk to tailors, armorsmiths, and chefs. I know that this isn't an IN class ability (ie it doesn't get better like a ranger) but it is still an income. We had our time to shine when mounts came out. The major problem that we have is that the BEs have NO clue what a valid pet is. If the Devs would tell them then they would stop (well the honest ones would) making the uber level 10 pets and we might be able to sell pets to non-chs. The problem is that non-ch people were spoiled for a VERY long time with the ability of having a level 15 tank and now don't understand the usefulness of having a mount that can also fight with you.
What this game needs is no fly zones. Zones around the worlds that you cannot take a vehicle. Sure you can get to the other side but you have to fly around. But a mount can waltz right through. If you need a reason how about that the forest is too thick that you cannot fly properly. What i'd like to see is not the people getting in their landspeeders and pushing forward bouncing off trees. But have that Land speeder take damage off every tree it hits. If vehicles took damage for hitting objects then I think a mount would have more value in the fact that the animal would be smart enough to walk around the object and therefore not take damage.
Just a thought
