Thread: CH with no weapon skill, feasable?

I'm thinking about dropping my combat skills. I should be able to use some good pets however for hunting. Is there anyone here who plays a CH with no weapon skills? What problems might you run into?
I've spent my entire CH career with Pistols IV, minimum.
The only way to pull this off is to group with some combat skilled players, and just sit back and let your pets tank. I actually did this for most of the time I was climbing the CH ladder back in August, mostly because my FWG didn't bring much to the table, and I'd be bleeding off XP that others needed for their professional paths more than I did with a ranged weapon.
Still, I can't imagine doing any serious soloing without having a weapon to inflict damage with, because even my highest level pets when I was an MCH (rancor, gurreck, gaping spider hunter) didn't inflict the damage I could with even a post-nerf FWG5. I get in at least three hits with an FWG for every one the critter gets in, and if I'm hitting in the 150-250 point range (which I do without using bodyshot 2) I'm going to do more damage, on average, than a CL 50 critter.
Unless you're planning on restricting your hunting to low-to-mid level mobs on starter planets, you're going to need your own combat power if you want to turn around missions in any reasonable amount of time.
