Thread: Question about Bio Mount.

Hello all,
I am new here and I am interested in becoming a Creature Handler. I just purchased a Dewback from a Bio Engineer Vendor the other day. It said that it was a Non CH mount. I hit the tame option on the radial menu while clicking on the deed and I failed to tame it because I am not a CH. The Dewback was then placed into my Data Pad.
Can I still have this creature tamed by a CH? It follows me around and parties with me at the Cantinas. When I examine it it says Tamable: No. This doesn't sound good. Is there any chance of taming this creature if I find the help of a CH?
I think you are confusing Taming with Training. You did in fact Tame the pet, or it would not have gone to your datapad and would have stayed as a deed.
Non CH pets (non agro critters that are cl 10 or lower) can be traded in a trade window without knowing the transfer command.
So all you need to do to get the pet Trained with some commands is to find a CH who is willing to do it for you. Drag the datapad representation of the pet into the trade window to trade it to the CH.
** edit *** Just wanted to add that the reason it says Tamable: No when you examine it is because it is a pet now, and can't be tamed by anyone else.... currently the only critters you will find that say Tamable: Yes are babies. Publish 7 is supposed to make that a more useful bit of information and a Tamable: Yes will show up when you examine a critter whos species is capable of having tamable babies.

Well, it says Taming: No because its still tamed, but it is unTrained.
So only thing u need to do is find a ch, ask him for training and trade the pet with him.
The pet will be mountable soon if u call it usually and it reaches about 75% of max. lvl.
Hope i could help.
Wow! Thanks for the great info.
I was a little worried about this, but now I know what to do. Thanks again.

Does that mean that he's on some sort of time table to get the critter trained before it grows past CL10 in his datapad, if it's nto one of those bugged CL0 pets?
No, he said in his post that it was a Non CH pet... which would mean thatits adultcl is 10 or lower. Those are the pets that you can trade via the trade window without the pet knowing transfer.
A CH pet (one whos adult cl is over lvl 10 or any cl agro pet) can only be traded in trade window if they know the transfer command...... OR supposedly can be traded (without transfer command) if the pet is too high for the owner to control and the recipient is capable of controlling it.
BUT there is often times a bug that allows any pet to be traded via trade window, whether it knows transfer or not... pretty much negatting the meaning of the transfer command. So when this "bug" is in game you can trade any pets back and forth providing the person has room in datapad. This bug has come and gone several times since release... so no telling if it is in game until you try.
As a side note that is always worth repeating.... If you try to trade an agro pet to a Non CH, or if the Non CH tries to tame a BE deed that is in an agressive skin (but below cl 10).... The error message you get tells you the person has too many stored pets and will have to delete one, instead of telling you the pet is agressive and therefore can never be given to or tamed by that person.
