I'm thinking of respecing one of my characters on another server to Creature Handler. What other good profession goes well with Creature Handler for an offensive, or defensive to make it a worthy addition to CH.

I'm MasterCH/Master Rifles. I'm pretty satisfied with it thus far and just pwned a MasterBH/Rifles/Medic in a duel a couple days ago - quite easily I might add. I just need to test this out on Jedi now and I'll know if I've found my template. The whole reason for getting CH again (I used to be one long ago before the great nerf) was watching a Jedi holding his own against 3-4 others. I had this vision of turning monsters loose on the glowstick boy taking him by surprise (who ever expects to seeCH being used in PvP?) I actually killed a Jedi in Cnet about a week ago with the help ofmy wrix trio, but I completely had the element of surprise that time.

Depends on your fighting style. Some people go for melee professions, and fight alongside their pets. Others go for ranged and use their pets as tanks... or did until the Combat Upgrade and it's "Hate" system made them useless as tanks.

Best thing to do is figure out which profession you like to play and have the most fun with, and go with it, rather than trying to figure out which one is the "best." Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Riflemen have heavy damage-dealing weapons with relatively-limited crowd-control ability; Pistoleers have a strong root special but limited range; Bounty Hunters have no crowd-control ability but strong damage-dealing specials and certifications for Assault Armor (strong vs. the typical creature's Kinetic damage type); Carbineers are mezzers. And so forth.

Bear in mind, though, that you're going to be giving up a considerable amount of weapon skill by going CH rather than a secondary shooter/melee profession.

Almost any other profession, depending on what you want to achieve ... any elite ranged profession if you want to stay at a distance and let your pets tank (if that gets fixed), any melee profession if you want to fight next to them.

Or Doc/CM if you want to play a support healing role in a group, and/or heal yourself, and/or heal your pets.

Or Ranger if you want to be able to track pets to tame.

Or Tailor, if you want to stand around in cool clothes while your pets do all the work.

Anything that suits your style really.
