All the pets we can tame are soo weak. Is there a way to do like 800dmg like other proffesion? Or are we only able to kill those lvl 40 and lower?

Q: Can a ch actualy kill a lvl 80 mob?

A:It depends on the level of the player. An MCH without any other combat skill cannot expect to kill a lvl 80,the same could be said about any other combat proffession. But If an MCH withno other combat skills could own a pet that couldkill a level 80 mob wouldn't thatbe an unfair advantage?

Yes. I really do all of the work, my pets may only hit for around 100-150 each time if I'm lucky. But I'm the one doing 700+ dmg on each shot. But then I don't have CH for a combat profession, it's my "hobbie".

u need to be CL80 (2 masters) to take on CL80 targets. like Sethna wrote no single combat master can fight a CL80 mob (at CL55 a CL80 is purple con - meaning instant death). why should this be different for ch.

if u are mch and have a second elite combat prof u should be able to kill anything at CL80 with your pets grouped with u. it all depends on your tactic.

i am a master pistoleer with BH 0044 - so i have lots and lots of states i can set. i still let my pets do most of the work. its easy for me to let my pets tank while i set states to reduce the damage the target does and increase the damage it takes. with bodyshot/quickdraw combo i have a high dps option i usualy use to finish the target off after i knocked it down with underhand shot. i can take out CL82 mobs with a grouped pet without taking a scratch and my pet seldom looses more then 40% of its health.

As a CH/BE , no I couldnt. But then again, as a BE/any combat profession that would be true regardless.

As for damage output, in theory you can get around 600 damage from 2 level 35's with 250-300 damage each, however, the truth is against a same level mob,(level 54/55) it will take me 2 or 3 times longer to kill it using pets as any other single combat template.

Of course during that battle, I never take a hit, require no armour and can run and leave the pets behind still without aggro if I ever decided. (never left my pets behind yet)

So, on the surface , it seems very bad, but there are compensations.

Also, due to the level system, I can eqip an advanced laser rifle and do 600 per shot with basic ranged attack if needed, as can any other level 54 character.

Following this logic... I was TKM/mDOC and able to take on 2 or 3 nightsisters at a time, albeit taking quite a while and with the use of buffs. Average TKM damage was about 300dmg a punch... not sure how much a second...

.. SO ..

Now I'm going for mCH/mDOC and my question is... if I could take on 2-3 nightsisters with the TKM/mDOC combo, will I be able to do the same with mCH/mDOC

whoops... didn't read the rest of the thread...

... so cool ... it seems I can take on about the same enemies solo with mCH/mDOC as I could my old template. :')

... but truth be told I'm going for this new template to work with groups... just nice to know I can solo if I have to.

We can if, as per the previous posts, u are a level 80 with some combat skills. I myself am a MCH and MCM with a line in BH for the carbine weaponry so I can anything from 350-650 a hit plus heal myself and my pets as we go along (well.. provided we don't get ambushed that is!)

U just need to let you pets take most of the agrro before you wade in all guns blazing

I believe the general consensus here is no - you cannot expect your pets to take on a level 80 mob independently and win - especially since pet control limits us to CL 70 orbelow pets.

I can take on one level 80 at a time with my pistol skills and my pets. I *might* be able to take two if my pets run interference for me. But without an additional combat skil, I wouldn't even dream of it.

As an MCH/MRanger, I don't have much problem tackling a lone Class 80 beast. When taking on two at a time, things get a little tough. More than two creatures is scary.

This is what I was planning also. I was going MCH/MR/4000 markswoman/0010 medic.

But I was kinda talked out of it by these posts, as I would not be effective. Now, I dont worry about being Uber. I just want to play and have fun. I got talked into MR/MTKA. So I can trap pull, and kill them. Although I WOULD have loved my first choice, I was afraid I would just not be able to win when I was collecting meats, hides etc for my BE and Chef customers.

As a MCH/MFence I have no problems tackling 2 or 3 80s. I like using armor break to up pet damage and blind to reduce pet damage (or myself when I want to take over the tank job). I think there's better melee templates to go with MCH and ranged with like pistoleer for roots or rifle with snare are probably ideal as well. As a Doc you should do ok with speed buffs on your pets. If the aggro fix is done with, hopefully the healing of the pet won't draw aggro to you, but in a 2 or 3 on one scenario I'm sure it'll grab the ones that the pet isn't attacking. Of course as a MDoc/MCH you can also use a gun and speed buff yourself to do some decent damage, wearing like bone armor or something for when they come after you. So yeah, I would think 2 or 3 is doable.

Of course a BE pet could take on 2 without you right now, that aside I've had some success with my giant angler which is only CL68 and could try to upgrade to like a shear mite soldier or somethin which is CL70.
