This weekend I spent much of my time in the central Corellia area, looking for the elusive great plains stalker. This was a good weekend because on Ahazi, Corellian wooly is excellent, Corellian wild milk is pretty good, as is Corellian egg. Insect meat was pretty good but shifted to just OK today.
So, anyway, I'm working my way along one of the rivers south, about 1200m to the SSW of the Nyax compound. Lots of mobs about; butterfly hives with two to three warriors floating around, dire cat prides, packs of grassland slicehounds, the occasional pride of wrix, and of course more annoying diseased vrelt than you can shake a curved Nyax sword at. I had just manuvered my dewback through a couple of diseased vrelt lairs, when suddenly, my dew is being attacked!
I look around and there are nothing but red dots around...and it appears that a razor cat has aggroed on my dewback! But, no, I quickly target the attacker, and it's a great plains stalker that seems to have materialized on my dewback out of no where!
I quickly dismount, equip my LLC, and set my gurreck to attacking the GPS. The dew is putting up a valiant fight but of course will not win. I attack with the LLC repeatedly, but the dew falls incapacitated. Fortunately, the gurreck is keeping the GPS entertained, so no vitality loss on my beloved dewback.
The gurreck holds the GPS' attention while I fire away with the LLC. As weapons against the GPS go, it's one of the better selections. The GPS finally falls, and I harvest over 150 units of carnivore meat from its large corpse.
Then, of course, I wait. For the next one to spawn, with the hopes that spawn three or four will be the much sought after baby.
But another GPS never comes. I clear out a nearby diseased vrelt lair and the slicehounds, even make a run on the wrix and dire cat prides, but alas, it's all in vain. No second GPS spawns. I suppose it's possible that my dewback was attacked by the fourth GPS, and someone else had successfully waited out the spawn and ran off with the third one, which was the baby.
This is only the third GPS I've ever seen in the wild, and the first one I've seen since regaining the ability to tame a GPS baby.
Still, I've got lots of milk and egg to turn over to the PA BE/Chef, and a good stack of hide for the PA armorsmith, so it's been a profitable weekend. Even looted a purple crystal off a Nyax goon. But still, the greatest prize of all eludes me, even though I have a lot to show for my time.

if and when I ever tame the elusive GPS I will post my log.
So far longest without finding one : 2 weeks and counting
Most found in 1 search: 4 spawns of 4

That might have been the 4th or...
The GPS might have chased some other creatures to that point that u came across him. When this happens to me for no repeat spawn I waypoint the spot where I dropped him at and start doin circles around it workin out. He is usually within 500m of the kill if he did respawn. I personally kill the 4th every time just so no one wastes their time when they find him.

As the Empire did when they found the abandoned Rebel base on Dantooine, I didconduct a search of the nearby area, going out about 400-500 m in all directions. The catchof course isthat there were lots of lairs about, fully populated, that a GPS might aggro on. I've been seeing things like canoid hunters attackingmurras, diseased vrelts aggroing on krahbus, and similarmob aggression against each other. I thought the GPS might have remotely aggroed on my dewback (but not on me) from some distance away and just got caught up, but I found no sign of GPS anywhere. I think that I was just in the right place at the right time for the GPS to attack Huey.
I was SO excited when the attack hit and I realized what was attacking. I though I might actually have a chance to tame the trophy.
It was not to be.

Yeah... that is a new one, unfortunately.
My strangest GPS tale is that I once came across a GPS fighting a group of humbabas, and after I killed it, I moved a few meters away to wait for a respawn and found another GPS just sitting there! So I killed that one- thinking it was 2 spawns on top of each other. But I only got 1 other spawn after that, so I have no idea what was going on.
That was on the day a friend and I found 10 spawns in one night.
I've stopped looking for now. I hit 47 spawns and got really frustrated and angry at the people getting one after only a handful.

East of Nyax... No Problem Finding them there.
I even have a Screen Shot of 2 Spawns within 30 Meters of each other. Being attacked by 2 GPS is cool. But still no baby from any of those.
Again East of Nyax Between there and the IMP v REB battle Field known as the Alamo on my server.

Update: I did run into a four adult spawn of GPS just to the south of the easternmost mesa tonight on Ahazi. Which is more in tune with what should be expected. Milk and egg still good, and as a bonus, Corellian wild is very nice, 978 OQ, which will make the BE happy.
The GPS seems to have a taste for dewback meat; the first two aggroed on my dew (not me, not the gurreck). The second two were out of aggro range when they spawned; gurreck tanked well and they fell quickly to the LLC
