Tons of websites out there have creature databases.
In-game, the only way for a non-Ranger CH to see pet levels is to tame one and then look at it in the datapad. And even then, it only shows its current level.
Rangers in-game can see creature levels, pet or not.
The website I use is swg.warcry.com
Hope that helps!

Is it just Rangers or do you get that at Master Scout? Of course all the Rangers have to BE master scouts so we'll have to ask an MS who isn't a ranger yet.

Hi All --
In CH combat I am getting a max of 200 CH points and often get a token 1 CH point.
Is the comparison of the fighting qualities ofyour pet vs. the target creature/NPC the only basis of the CH point award? Or are the fighting qualities of the CH himself/herself (including the weapon equipped) factored into the CH point award calculation?
Is the maximum 2K CH point award possible only if the CH is part of a group fighting a formidable enemy? I was once part of a group fighting Krayts, my Rancor pets spent most of their time lying on the ground incapped, so I got no CH points at all.
Inshort, is there some simple methods of selecting targets for your pet to attack, such that CH points can be maximized, when the CH: Case A) is alone? Case B) is part of a group?
Ideally I would want to have a chance at the maximum 2K CH point award, or something close to it.
Thanks,
Amphiaraus

I'd like to point you to the excellent FAQs that are stickied above, and i will point you to them, however here an except from Jokers FAQ:
Whats the fastest way to master CH?
There is no quick and easy way to do it in my opinion CH is probably the second hardest grind in the game next to Jedi. You recive CH xp based on the difference in the CL of the creature/NPC your fighting and the CL of your pet. To get CH xp your pet only has to hit the mob once to recive full xp and remember that if you use a pet with too low a CL your xp gain will be reduced but if you use a pet with to high a CL your xp will be reduced as well so each mob has a "sweet spot" of pet CL that will maximize your xp gain. For instance against blacksuns on endor I was getting around 500 xp with a CL 10 pet but when I used a CL 34 pet I got 1.1k xp per blacksun. Also using two pets at a time will only divide the xp between the pets and will often times give you less overall XP.

From my own point of view, i've only ever got 2k once or twice, i tended to get buffed and use my pets against Rancors on Dath, gave decent XP

The creatures level is a critical element to the level of XP, but it is hard to pin down it's means of calculating. I have a lvl 19 that gets les XP than a lvl25. But one a whole any natural creature that is lower level than another should get more xp.
And as far as how to more easily select targets....well about all you can do there is learn how to teach the Guard command, have it guard you, or maybe a friend and it will attack whatever is attacking it's guard target.

I have noticed creatures have a mind of their own, sometimes refusing to attack when ordered, and sometimes running away from something they have attacked.
