Just to be clear: I've been in this game for about2 years, however, there are still a LOT of things I have not done. I guess the best description for the way I play is "homebody", staying in my local cantina, sometimes doing missions either factional or non, but I don't usually do a lot of journeying and exploring of cool locations. I only have like, 4 POI badges, and the only remote planets I've ever even been to are Lok, Dantooine, and Endor (where I grinded through Scout to get to CH)=\
Well, one of my best friends irl finally returned to this game (he's been around since launch, but quit, I dunno, a bit over a year ago? After he mastered CH and didn't feel like there was much else to do) since I've been talking to him about it a bunch and stuff, and his MCH Wookiee was still there. So we grouped up and went to Dantooine tonight to get some missions done for experience and money, but he had to leave after the first mission. So I finished my other mission, and was left with about an hour left on my buffs, when I remember a guildmate of mine asking me the other day if I could harvest some meats for him. The specific meats he needed were off of crystal snakes, so I decided to hyperspace me and my buffs to Yavin IV to see what I could do for him.
(Just for reference, I am 2213 CH, CL29, can call 2 pets)
Get a couple crystal snake missions, head to the first waypoint, start fighting them, and my first thought was "Dayum, these crystal snakes are COOL, I want one" (this is my first ever trip to Yavin =\). I take out the first set of spawns, hit the hive, and bam, out spawns a crystal snake baby. I tell my current pet, and my droid to sit, and I try to tame it. Get it on the first try =) Immediatley check it's stats, and it's going to easily be my best pet yet.
Now, I got me a full datapad, but I see, as I'm journeying through the Yavin wilderness, a giant sarnital baby (is that how it's spelled?) and it's stats seem pretty decent compared to what I have, so I delete one of my older pets I hardly use anymore (my old desert eopie, sad to see him go, but it's better to put him out of his misery than to let him suffer a long and painful death of non-use in my datapad) and tame it. Now all of a sudden I got myself 2 "exotic" pets in like, 10 minutes.
I ended up heading back to Naboo after my buffs wore off, and I made the mistake of pulling out my female tusk plains cat, who's aggressive behavior managed to aggro every animal on Yavin, and I barely escaped alive. I sat around in the cantina for awhile playing with my 2 new pets, training them, and naming them, when I decided I wanted more! So I deleted my bantha from my datapad (I can't remember a single time where I actually wanted to use it) and went back to Yavin, fully buffed, with an open spot for taming.
Took a couple more crystal snake missions to get some more meat for my guildie, but after completed those, just continued out in the wilds of Yavin looking for new pets. Got myself 2 kilkniks =) (TTR'd one, then tamed the other one to keep in my datapad). I haven't named the kliknik tho, because it's stats aren't that great compared to the other pets that I have, and I'd rather get a bigger time kliknik for the one I plan on keeping long term.
Anyways, Yavin has lots of awesome creatures that I'm looking forward to taming. I know for a lot of you, these pets I'm getting are child's play, but I've left a lot to be discovered in this game over the past 2 years, and well, anyways, if you can't appreciate the small stuff in life, what's the point?
So, I've gotten myself all stoked after a couple new pets that I've tamed, and I've gotten myself a nice list of pets to look forward to taming in the future (I want a bigger kliknik, one of them angler spider thingies, and the smeekers or whatever they are called, the weird ape looking dudes. Oh, and those bats if they are tameable also), and found a great planet to go wandering around just to explore, as well as get some good experience and money, and have a shot at some really cool pets.
Ah yes... Yavin 4 is my new playground

There are great places to visit and some wonderful and exciting creatures to find - Visit Rori and get yourself a Leviasquall, or Naboo for a Giant Veermok - while they may not be the best pets they sure get you attention when they are fully grow
HAVE FUN, enjoy the game, enjoy the profession - I love CH

Nothing Childs play about it my friend. When I was playing my old Toon Khales, I was hunting on dantooine and I managed a tame. I went on the forums and saw where eveyrone was shouting out, "Tamed a Baby Bull Rancor," "I tamed a Great Plains Stalker," "I tamed the white rabbit from Monty Python's the Holy Grail." you get the idea. Well, I entered in on that thread and proudly bosted. "I TAMED ME A SAVAGE QUENKER!!! Well, yeah, it's not much but hey, I was able to do it finally." heheheh A tame is a tame and don't matter if it's the great fabled Bull Rancor on Dahtomire or just a crystal snake baby on Yavin IV, either way, you have proven your skills. Also, it may be old to us, but if it's new to you, then its awesome. Keep up the good work my friend and keep taming.
