Thread: Do I Smell Really Bad?

Well since pets are all but useless, I decided to go look for the rare babies. There have been some posts stating that Bull Rancor babies are around, so I decided to start there. Went and picked up some Bio clothes and got Mask Scent up to over 100, 115 I think. What a surprise to find that Taming Vicious Creatures only goes to 77. But anyways off the DATH i go. Found alot of Bull Rancors but Mask Scent broke almost every time except once. How is one to tame a baby if Mom and Dad is around and would like to have you for dinner. Is this broken as well or do I need to get off my speeder at times and swim rivers to clean my body. If it is not broke, how are you able to tame a baby if you do find one??? Oh btw, saw a Monsterious Rancor, didn't even know they were in the game.

well, it helps if you crawl up to them in a prone position. it increases your odds of success with mask scent.
and you mean monstrous brute? yeah they're listed on swgcreatures. was it a boss spawn or did you see it just sitting there?

I'm sure it said Monsterious Rancor, it was just sitting there, had something like 100% resist for most stats, didn't really write anything down since it reminded me of a peko peko albatros stats, nothing I want to fool with. I just thought that with a much higher Mask Scent, it shouldn't break so easily, it was breaking on just about everything on DATH.

I don't even crawl, I just walk a step and wait, walk a step and wait, walk a step and wait. That way I'm ready to run. I can get within range of just about everything that way. I tested it on an adult Great Plains Stalker and could keep from breaking scent about 40% of the time, and that's with no special clothes, cammo, and no Ranger skill.

went to dath last night and pick up 3 baby rancors, my buddy Smaku picked 4 of the baby rancors also , we were looking for bulls but none spawned. he found a trick on taming. when you use a swoop, you can tame while riding. instead of using your macro for taming us the radial while on your swoop, that way if you break mask you can just fly away. did that many time last night until i tamed a bunch of babies. hope this doesn't get read by the DEV. they might nerf this......

One of the difficulty on Rancor taming is the fact that if your maskscent breaks, but you get away without agro, many times rancors will be agitated enough toturn on eachother, with any babies near joining in the fray.
(sorry, no screenshots of this occuring... but I've seen it happen... really!)
