Thread: What makes a good pvp pet?
I've found that using grauls and rancors are useful in taking out turrets on base raids. It takes a little while but many PC's ignore them. I use giant crystal snakes and crc's to chase after MCM's that run away after throwing poisons/diseases. I don't let any pet try to go head-to-head with TKM's or Master Riflemen.
A useful command is befriend. If you get incapped, then the friend can direct your pet(s).
The follow other command can be useful to send your pet tofolk getting off of a shuttle during their covert time. Then the pet is right there to attack if thetarget moves then becomes overt. This is also one way to keep MCM's in easy range until they become TEF'd.
Thanks for the help. This is just the sort of discussion I was looking for. I guess the question now is can you get the resists high enough in all areas without significantly lowering the ham too much? Or is that too much to ask and needs to be specialized? Ihad read else where thatresists were needed ineverything but cold and restraint. Also, if we're going with one pet, what's better to pair with Intimidate, Stun or Blind? Any other thoughts? Thanks.

I'm starting up rifleman and I believe that they have stun available to them through flushing shot, though I'm not sure it works that way as I do have it yet. So maybe blind would work better for me too. Thanks.

I am a MCH and an aspiring MBE. Most of the recipies for BE pets are based on Kenetic resistance and Health only. (as Health gets tossed first in PvE)
But I've been amazed at what I can do to create the perfect PvE pet. I've just never looked for the best DNA to build the ultimate PVP pet. I'm sure some have, but I'd love to make this a project of my own as well.
Would you guys mind adding to the discussion, what exactly we WANT in a PVP pet. ie... what specials you want. Rememberyou can pick 2,and whileit may be hard to get the combo in a single pet, there's no reason you can't have 3 pets out in the CL23 range.
I would assume a few things... they need resists to kenetic and energy. (what else? stun? electricity?) They need armor, and a pretty even ham bar. (as any bar may be targeted specifically) This will make a trio group nearly impossible. But maybe we could make a great PVP team out of two CL35 pets.
Let me know exactly what we need in a PVP pet, and I'll get some BEs to start working on the DNA.
I sure hope I'm adding to your post Antimony, instead of high-jacking it! ![]()

Electricty is important for bounty hunters LLC and pikemans VL
Blast is important for Power hammers(VERY)
Energy is important for T21's
Heat is important for Commandos FT
Acid could be an issue, but not as bad as the above, all acid weapons have AP EXCEPT the HAR(ironic that the HEAVY acid weapon has no AP eh?), so a vuln could be dangerous.
Stun will be an issue vs rifleman because the jawa has AP
IIRC carbineers and fencers will have open season on your pet because their scatter hits will bypass the armor and resists(it's a bug though, and should get fixed soon....yeah right). SO not much you can do there.
